Vince Vaughn To Star In Apple TV+ Series Bad Monkey From Ted Lasso Producer

First look at the new Vince Vaughn comedy ‘Bad Monkey.

Apple TV+ unveiled the premiere date and a first look at “Bad Monkey,” the highly anticipated comedy series from award-winning executive producer Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso,” “Shrinking”) and starring acclaimed actor Vince Vaughn, who also serves as an executive producer. The 10-episode series is based on Carl Hiaasen’s New York Times Bestselling novel. It will make its global debut on Apple TV+, with the first two episodes on August 14, 2024. Subsequent episodes will be released every Wednesday through October 9.

“Bad Monkey” follows the story of Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), a former Miami police detective demoted to a health inspector in the Florida Keys. His mundane life takes an unexpected turn when tourists discover a human arm, leading Yancy to believe that solving this potential murder could be his ticket back to the police force. The path to redemption is fraught with a cast of quirky Floridian characters and a troublesome monkey.

The ensemble cast of “Bad Monkey” includes L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Special guest stars that will appear are John Ortiz, Zach Braff, and Charlotte Lawrence.

It is developed by Lawrence, the executive producer and showrunner.

This series marks the latest collaboration between Lawrence and Warner Bros. Television for Apple TV+, following the Emmy-nominated “Shrinking” and the globally acclaimed “Ted Lasso.” Co-created by Lawrence, “Ted Lasso” became the most Emmy-nominated freshman comedy series ever. It won back-to-back Emmy Awards for Best Comedy Series for its first two seasons.

“Bad Monkey” promises to be another standout series in the Apple TV+ lineup. It will offer viewers a mix of comedy, mystery, and the eccentric charm of Hiaasen’s Floridian setting. Fans of Vaughn and Lawrence’s previous works eagerly anticipate this novel-inspired comedy’s debut.
