Bad Monkey is from the creator of ‘Ted Lasso.’

Apple TV+ has dropped the trailer for “Bad Monkey,” a comedy series everyone’s been waiting for. This show is from the same guy who brought us “Ted Lasso” and “Scrubs,” Bill Lawrence. The series stars Vince Vaughn and will be on Apple TV+, with the first two episodes starting on August 14, 2024. After that, you can catch a new episode every Wednesday until October 9.

“Bad Monkey,” adapted from Carl Hiaasen’s popular New York Times bestselling novel, follows the story of Andrew Yancy (Vaughn), a former detective from the Miami Police Department now working as a health inspector in the Florida Keys. Yancy’s chance to return to his former glory arrives when tourists discover a severed human arm in the ocean. He believes solving the mystery and proving it’s a murder could be his ticket back to the force. His investigation, however, is complicated by a cast of quirky Floridian characters and one particularly troublesome monkey. Watch the trailer below!
The series boasts a stellar ensemble cast. It features L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Special guest star John Ortiz will also appear, as will Zach Braff, Ashley Nicole Black, Scott Glenn, and newcomer Charlotte Lawrence in her television debut.

“Bad Monkey” continues the successful partnership between Bill Lawrence and Warner Bros. Television on Apple TV+, following the critical acclaim of “Shrinking” and the worldwide success of “Ted Lasso.” Fans of Hiaasen’s unique blend of humor and mystery and newcomers can look forward to an entertaining journey when the series premieres on August 14.
