WAR Trailer Pits Dominic West Against Sienna Miller

The HBO and Sky Original drama explores a bitter celebrity divorce and the powerful London law firms fighting to win it.

HBO has released the official trailer for WAR, a new legal drama starring Dominic West and Sienna Miller. The eight-episode HBO and Sky Original series comes from creator George Kay, known for Lupin and Hijack.

The series enters the competitive world of London’s most powerful lawyers. Two rival firms will clash during a headline-grabbing case where ambition, betrayal, and reputation carry enormous consequences.

What Is HBO’s WAR Series About?

The first season follows the explosive divorce between British technology entrepreneur Morgan Henderson and international film star Carla Duval. West plays Morgan, while Miller portrays Carla.

Their separation quickly becomes a major legal battle. Cathcarts & Sons and Taylor & Byrne represent the opposing parties, with both firms prepared to do whatever it takes to win.

The case also pulls ambitious young lawyer Jonathan “Johnny” Warren into a ruthless professional world. Archie Renaux, known for Shadow and Bone and The Other Zoey, plays Johnny.

For these lawyers, ambition is currency, betrayal is strategy, and winning is everything. The increasingly bitter divorce places careers, relationships, and personal loyalties under pressure as both sides fight for control.

While Morgan and Carla sit at the center of the conflict, WAR will also explore the people operating behind the scenes. The legal teams must navigate their own rivalries and personal connections while managing a case playing out in the public eye.

Dominic West And Sienna Miller Lead The Cast

Dominic West leads the series as Morgan Henderson. His television credits include The Wire, The Affair, and The Crown. Sienna Miller stars opposite him as Carla Duval, an internationally recognized film star facing a highly publicized separation.

Phoebe Fox plays Serena Byrne, while James McArdle portrays Nicholas Taylor. The two characters are partners in both their personal and professional lives at Taylor & Byrne.

Nina Sosanya appears as Beatrice “Queen Bea” Ubosi. Pip Torrens plays St John Smallwood, her counterpart at Cathcarts & Sons. Together, they serve as fierce rivals to Serena and Nicholas.

The extensive ensemble also includes Celia Imrie, Nick Mohammed, Emma Laird, Aran Murphy, Archie Panjabi, Adrian Scarborough and Shaheen Jafargholi.

Akiya Henry, Honor Swinton Byrne, Miles Jupp, Kartanya Maynard, Alexandra Mardell, Dylan Edwards, Mark Quartley and Steve Furst round out the cast.

WAR will debut Thursday, October 1, from 9 to 10 p.m. ET/PT on HBO. It will also be available to stream on HBO Max. New episodes will arrive weekly on Thursdays.
