Wednesday Season 3 expands the Addams legacy with Eva Green and Winona Ryder.

Netflix is not waiting around for the fog to settle. Wednesday has officially been production for Season 3.
The hit series stars Jenna Ortega as the razor-sharp and unapologetically morbid Wednesday Addams. The show has proven staying power and is expanding into a growing universe of gothic intrigue. Season 2, released in 2025, teed up more sinister tales for season 3.
Moreover, the numbers back it up. The first season of Wednesday remains the most-viewed English-language series in Netflix history. That kind of cultural impact does not fade quietly into the night.

Nevermore Welcomes New Blood
Nevermore Academy is about to get even stranger. A wave of new and suspicious characters will roam the halls. The incoming cast includes Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Noah Taylor, Oscar Morgan, and Kennedy Moyer. Each addition promises new secrets, rivalries, and possibly a few bodies buried beneath the academy grounds.
However, the most intriguing arrival may be Eva Green. Netflix previously announced that the longtime Tim Burton collaborator will play the enigmatic and “missing” Aunt Ophelia. She is the sister of Morticia Addams, portrayed by Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Aunt Ophelia stands as one of the most mysterious figures in the Wednesday universe. Casting Green in the role suggests a character layered with elegance, danger, and possibly betrayal. Given Green’s track record with gothic material, her presence could redefine the Addams Family tree in unexpected ways.
A Stacked Cast Returns to Nevermore
From visionary filmmaker Tim Burton comes Wednesday Season 3 with an expansive ensemble that blends returning favorites and bold new additions.
At the center, Jenna Ortega returns as the sharp-tongued Wednesday Addams. She is joined once again by Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams and Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams. Meanwhile, Nevermore’s familiar faces also step back into the shadows, including Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Fred Armisen, Isaac Ordonez, Joy Sunday, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, and Georgie Farmer.

However, Season 3 widens the Addams universe even further. Winona Ryder, Chris Sarandon, Eva Green, Billie Piper, Oscar Morgan, Noah Taylor, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Kennedy Moyer, Evie Templeton, Joanna Lumley, Joonas Suotamo, and Liv Spencer are all set to bring new energy and danger to Nevermore Academy.
It is one of the most ambitious ensembles the series has assembled yet. As a result, the hallways of Nevermore are about to feel even more crowded and far more suspicious.
Ortega and Ryder Reunite After Beetlejuice Beetlejuice
One reunion, in particular, feels poetic.
Ortega and Ryder share cinematic history through Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, another Tim Burton project that bridged generations of gothic storytelling. Ryder famously originated the role of Lydia Deetz in the 1988 classic, while Ortega stepped into that offbeat world decades later in its long-awaited sequel.
Now, they reunite within Burton’s Wednesday universe.
The Addams Legacy Expands
From viral dance scenes to sharp-tongued one-liners, Wednesday has carved out a distinct identity in pop culture. Yet the show continues to evolve, and Netflix is betting on a long-term expansion of the Nevermore world.
For fans, that means more cryptic clues, darker conspiracies, and deeper dives into the Addams mythology. Season 3 has already begun its next chapter near Dublin. Meanwhile, Wednesday Addams remains exactly where she belongs — at the center of the storm, unblinking and unimpressed.
One thing is certain. The hauntings are far from over.
