Benicio del Toro Leads Star-Studded Cast in Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme – Trailer

Focus Features sets a May 30 release for Wes Anderson’s The Phoenician Scheme.

Focus Features will release The Phoenician Scheme in theaters on Friday, May 30. The film is directed by Wes Anderson, who co-wrote the story with Roman Coppola. Anderson also wrote the screenplay. Produced by Anderson, Steven Rales, Jeremy Dawson, and John Peet, the film explores family ties and business struggles.

The Phoenician Scheme follows Zsa-zsa Korda, one of Europe’s richest men, played by Benicio del Toro. Mia Threapleton plays his daughter, Liesl, who is also a nun. Michael Cera portrays Bjorn, their tutor. The cast also includes Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, and Mathieu Amalric.

Additional stars include Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, and Benedict Cumberbatch. Rupert Friend and Hope Davis round out the ensemble. The film is expected to follow Anderson’s signature visual and storytelling style.

The Phoenician Scheme is Anderson’s latest project following 2023’s Asteroid City.
