Wyatt Russell battles the elements in “Broke.”

The spirit of the modern American West rides again in Broke. It is a contemporary western starring Wyatt Russell (Thunderbolts) and Dennis Quaid (Reagan). The film follows True Brandywine, a bareback bronc rider at the tail end of his rodeo career, played by Russell.
When a freak spring blizzard traps him in the wilderness, True is forced to battle the brutal elements, his failing body, and his haunted past. Injured, ill, and alone in the cold, he faces a reckoning that could change everything.
Joining Russell is an ensemble cast that includes. It includes Auden Thornton (Black Mirror), Mary McDonnell (Rebel), Johnny Berchtold (Reacher), Tom Skerritt (Ted), and Dennis Quaid (Reagan, A Dog’s Purpose).

Broke promises a grounded and emotional story of resilience and redemption wrapped in the unforgiving landscape of the modern West. It captures the fading world of rodeo riders while exploring the personal costs of chasing a dying dream.

With rugged performances and a backdrop of snow-covered desperation, Broke aims to bring a new kind of Western to today’s audiences—one that trades shootouts for soul-searching and grit for grace.
The film will be available for digital purchase and rental starting May 6.
