Hollywood is set for a busy 2026, stacking the year with franchise follow-ups, sequels, and big returns. Marvel joins with Avengers: Doomsday; Denis Villeneuve expands his universe with Dune: Part Three. Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings onto the scene, and Scary Movie returns for comedy fans.
Just as wild, though, are the sequels almost nobody had on their bingo card until they were suddenly real. Pixar is back with Toy Story 5, and Illumination is going bigger with The Super Mario Galaxy Movie after the first film became a full-on pop culture event. Then there are the “wait, we’re getting THIS?” titles: The Devil Wears Prada 2, the big-screen continuation Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, a spell-casting comeback with Practical Magic 2, and the intriguingly titled The Social Reckoning, which hints at a timely, modern follow-up energy. In other words, 2026 isn’t just stuffed with sequels — it’s stacked with conversation starters.

The mix of blockbusters and unexpected franchise revivals ensures the year is packed from start to finish.
