The 2025 Emmy Awards nominations breakdown.

It’s a big day for creatives in the TV industry, as the 77th Emmy Awards nominations were announced early this morning. Read to find out if your favorite show (or shows) got nominated this year.
Which Series are Nominated?
Andor, The Pitt, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, Paradise, Severance, Slow Horses, and The White Lotus are this year’s nominations for Outstanding Drama Series. For the category of Outstanding Comedy Series, Abbot Elementary, The Bear, Hacks, Nobody Wants This, Only Murders in the Building, Shrinking, The Studio, and What We Do in the Shadows have also been nominated this year. And of course, for the Outstanding Limited Anthology Series category, Adolescence, Black Mirror, Dying for Sex, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, and The Penguin
Outstanding Lead and Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
The new Mr. Fantastic, Pedro Pascal, has gotten himself a nomination for Lead Actor in a Drama Series for season two of The Last of Us, after emotionally destroying fans of the franchise all around with his performance. Actor Noah Wyle was also nominated for his lead role in The Pitt as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, and this will be his sixth Emmy nomination in his acting career.
Gary Oldman also earned himself a nomination in Slow Horses, as well as Sterling K. Brown for Paradise, and of course… You can’t forget about Adam Scott in the widely praised and enticing series’ Severance’.

Seven lucky actors were nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. First, Zach Cherry was nominated for his role in Severance, as was Tramell Tillman in the same project. The White Lotus is a popular hit in this category, as Sam Rockwell, Jason Isaacs, and Walton Goggins have also gotten themselves nominations for their role in the hit drama series. And of course, we can’t fail to mention the wonderful John Turturro for his work in Severance as well.
Outstanding Lead and Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
When it comes to this year’s Emmy nominations for leading ladies, there are some big names in the spotlight. Kathy Bates scored a nod for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her work on Matlock, and Sharon Horgan is in the running too for her role in Bad Sisters. Over on Severance, Britt Lower picked up a nomination alongside her co-star Adam Scott, who’s also up for Outstanding Lead Actor.
Another standout pair is Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal, both nominated for The Last of Us. Bella has been open about her struggles with emetophobia and used her season two press tour to raise awareness for that community — her honesty and talent have really helped shape her career and this nomination is proof of that. And let’s not forget Keri Russell, who grabbed a Lead Actress nomination for her role as Kate Wyler in The Diplomat.

In the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category, there’s a great mix of fan favorites and surprises. Patricia Arquette is nominated for Severance, and Julianne Nicholson is in the running for Paradise. And of course, Katherine LaNasa, who plays everyone’s favorite charge nurse Dana Evans on The Pitt (or as Attending Dr. Robby would say, “The Pitt, not ours”), also scored a well-deserved nomination.
One of the biggest surprises this year is just how much the women of The White Lotus are dominating this category. Parker Posey caused a “tsunami” with her nomination for her scene-stealing performance. Natasha Rothwell, Aimee Lou Wood, and Carrie Coon all picked up nominations too for their work on the show.
Outstanding Lead and Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series
Actor Adam Brody, who plays Noah in Nobody Wants This, has received a nomination, as has Seth Rogen for his hilarious work in The Studio, Jason Segel in Shrinking, and, of course, the amazing Martin Short in Only Murders in the Building. Jeremy Allen White has been nominated for his performance in this category as Carmen, also known as “Carmy” Berzatto, in The Bear.

And speaking of The Bear, Ebon Moss-Bachrach picked up a nomination in the Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series category for his work on the show. He’s joined by Ike Barinholtz for The Studio, Jeff Hiller for Somebody Somewhere, Colman Domingo for The Four Seasons, and Michael Urie for The Shrinking. And let’s not forget the legendary Harrison Ford, who’s finally getting his first-ever Emmy nomination — pretty amazing after all these years.
Outstanding Lead and Supporting Actresses in a Comedy Series
After a song and dance performance on the perks of being at a shorter height with Sabrina Carpenter on SNL, actress Quinta Brunson has been busy… including getting herself a nomination for Abbot Elementary. Also nominated are Kristen Bell for the new series Nobody Wants This, Jean Smart for Hacks, as well as Ayo Edebiri, who’s earned herself two nominations this year. Edebiri has already won an Emmy for Best Supporting Actress for the same show, and this year she was nominated for Lead Actress.

But wait — there are even more amazing actresses in the spotlight this year. Seven talented women were nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. The list includes Liza Colon-Zayas for The Bear, Hannah Einbinder for Hacks, Kathryn Hahn for The Studio, and Janelle James for Abbott Elementary.
Comedy legend Catherine O’Hara, already beloved for Schitt’s Creek, also grabbed a nomination for The Studio. Abbott Elementary continues to shine with Sheryl Lee Ralph getting recognized again for her role, and Jessica Williams rounds things out with a nomination for Shrinking.

DC fans raved about The Penguin, which lead Colin Farrell to be nominated for Outstanding Lead In A Limited Anthology Series or Movie, as well as Jake Gyllenhaal for Presumed Innocent, Stephen Graham for the Netflix breakout series Adolescence, Brian Tyree Henry for Dope Thief, and Cooper Koch for Monsters: The Lyle And Erik Menendez Story.

Supporting actors for this category include Javier Bardem for the same series based on the Menendez brothers, Owen Cooper for Adolescence, Ashley Walters also for Adolescence, Rob Delaney for Dying for Sex, Peter Sarsgaard for Presumed Innocent, and Bill Camp for Presumed Innocent.

Actress Cate Blanchett for Disclaimer, Michelle Williams for Dying for Sex, Cristina Milioti for The Penguin, Meghann Fahy for Sirens, and Parks and Rec’s Rashida Jones are all nominated for this award category of Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Anthology Series or Movie.

Supporting actresses featured include Erin Doherty in Adolescence, who will be her first Emmy nomination of her career, following her heart-pounding portrayal as a therapist in the Netflix project. Ruth Negga in Presumed Innocent, as well as Deirdre O’Connell for The Penguin, and Chloe Sevigny for Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story.Actress Jenny Slate is also nominated for Dying for Sex, as well as Christian Tremarco in Adolescence, who are also all nominated for this season.
Outstanding Guest Actor and Actress in a Drama Series
Two actors from The Last of Us are up for nominations in this category — both Jeffrey Wright and Joe Pantoliano scored nods for their guest roles in the HBO Max series. Forest Whitaker also landed a spot on the list for his role as Saw Gerrera in Andor, which made Star Wars fans pretty happy to see him back.

Scott Glenn is nominated for The White Lotus, and Giancarlo Esposito grabbed a nomination for The Boys. And you can’t forget Shawn Hatosy, who jokingly calls himself “just your average everyday icon” on TikTok — he’s nominated for his guest role in The Pitt as Dr. Jack Abbott, a night shift attending doc with a military medicine background.
Actresses nominated for this category include three for Severance.
Jane Alexander, Gwendoline Christie, and Merritt Wever have all been nominated for their standout guest appearances this year. Catherine O’Hara added another Emmy nod to her list too, this time for The Last of Us, along with Kaitlyn Dever, who also got recognized for her role in the same show. Dever played the controversial character Abby — the one who broke so many hearts when she killed Joel early in the season. Her performance may have made fans furious, but it definitely made an impact, and that’s what earned her this nomination. And finally, Cherry Jones is also nominated in this category for her work on The Handmaid’s Tale.
Outstanding Writing and Directing
In the Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series category, Andor, Severance, Slow Horses, and The White Lotus all earned nominations. The Pitt did especially well, landing two nominations in this category alone.
Over on the comedy side, Abbott Elementary, Hacks, The Rehearsal, Somebody Somewhere, The Studio, and What We Do in the Shadows are all in the running for their sharp writing, too.
And for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Adolescence, Black Mirror, Dying for Sex, The Penguin, and Say Nothing all picked up nominations for their impressive scripts.
What is a show without its directors?
In the Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series category, a bunch of standout shows made the list. Andor was directed by Janus Metz, The Pitt had episodes helmed by Amanda Marsalis and John Wells, Severance had episodes directed by Jessica Lee Gagne and Ben Stiller, Slow Horses had an episode directed by Adam Randall, and The White Lotus was directed by Mike White.
On the comedy side, The Bear, Hacks, Mid-Century Modern, The Rehearsal, and The Studio all picked up Emmy nominations for directing too. And for Outstanding Directing in an Anthology, Limited Series, or Movie, Adolescence, Dying for Sex, The Penguin, Sirens, and Zero Day each grabbed nominations for their standout direction.
