Army of Darkness was the third Evil Dead film.
On February 19, 1993, Army of Darkness was released in the United States. It was the third installment of the Evil Dead franchise starring Bruce Campbell. Sam Raimi helmed the entire trilogy, which kicked off in 1981. Campbell returned as his iconic character in Ash vs Evil Dead, which takes place 30 years after the first three films. In 2013 a reboot was released, and now, this year, we have another reboot being released with the blessing of Campbell and Raimi, both producers, Evil Dead Rise.
Synopsis
Ash finds himself trapped in medieval times. He must quest for the Necronomicon, a book of evil that can return him to his time. Unfortunately, he releases the evil trapped inside the book and unleashes an army of the dead.
