A dysfunctional bear family fights back In Tubi’s Breaking Bear.

Tubi is going full criminal in the forest with Breaking Bear, a new original adult animated comedy series led by a stacked voice cast that includes Brendan Fraser, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Annie Murphy, Elizabeth Hurley, and Josh Gad.
The streamer has released the red band trailer for the upcoming series, which premieres exclusively on Tubi on Friday, July 24. The first two episodes will debut that day, followed by a six-episode drop on Friday, July 31.
Breaking Bear follows a dysfunctional family of bears who turn to crime in order to protect their home from frackers, mobsters, and a psychotic wolf pack. What starts as a desperate attempt to save the forest quickly spirals into a full-blown criminal rampage filled with biker gangs, dangerous enemies, an egomaniacal news anchor, and plenty of self-sabotage.
Breaking Bear Brings Crime Comedy To The Animal Kingdom
The hook is simple, strange, and very Tubi: what happens when a family of bears decides the only way to save the forest is to break the law?

Instead of a cute animated animal adventure, Breaking Bear leans into adult comedy, crime satire, and red band chaos. The series sends its bear family into a violent and absurd world where protecting nature means getting their paws dirty.
The new trailer teases a show that is built around outrageous comedy, mob-style storytelling, and a very R-rated sense of humor. Tubi’s own description calls the series a “fur-flying, law-breaking, forest-saving rampage,” and that pretty much says everything viewers need to know about the tone. As the bears fall deeper into the criminal underworld, they find themselves facing off with frackers, mobsters, biker gangs, a wolf pack, and their own ability to make every bad situation even worse.
A Major Voice Cast Leads Tubi’s Breaking Bear
Brendan Fraser, who won an Oscar for The Whale, leads the voice ensemble. Fraser has also remained a fan favorite thanks to beloved roles in The Mummy, George of the Jungle, Encino Man, and Doom Patrol.
Sarah Michelle Gellar, best known for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, joins the series after building a legacy across horror, action, and cult television. Her credits also include Cruel Intentions, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Scooby-Doo.
Annie Murphy, an Emmy winner for Schitt’s Creek, brings her comedy chops to the series after breaking out as Alexis Rose. She has also starred in projects like Kevin Can Fk Himself** and Black Mirror.
Elizabeth Hurley, known for The Royals, Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, and Bedazzled, adds more star power to the voice cast. According to Tubi, she voices Wolf Queen, a fierce guardian of the forest locked in a bitter rivalry with the bears.
Josh Gad, the Tony-nominated actor best known to many fans as Olaf in Frozen, also stars. Gad’s credits include The Book of Mormon, Beauty and the Beast, and Central Park.
Who The Star’s Voice in Breaking Bear
Tubi has revealed the main character lineup for the adult animated series. Fraser voices Jer, the oldest bear sibling who thinks he is the brains of the operation, even though he is often the one causing the most problems.

Gellar voices Blair, the middle sister and the actual brains of the family. She is the one constantly cleaning up her brothers’ messes and keeping everyone alive.
Murphy voices Tawny, a human local news anchor with big ambitions. Her goal is to climb the ladder and become a major national broadcaster.
Hurley voices Wolf Queen, a powerful protector of the forest who sees the bears as a threat. Gad voices Alistair, the baby brother of the family, who can shift from anxious and sweet to completely unhinged without warning.
That lineup gives Breaking Bear a fun mix of comedy, chaos, and character-driven dysfunction. This is not just a show about animals behaving badly. It is about a messy family that happens to be made up of bears, and their terrible choices may be the only thing standing between their forest and total destruction.
The Team Behind Breaking Bear
Breaking Bear is executive produced by Tom DeLonge, best known as the co-founder of blink-182 and creator of Poet Anderson: The Dream Walker. The series is also executive-produced by Stan Spry, Jeff Holland, and Bradford Bricken.

Fraser, Gellar, and Gad are also executive producers on the series, alongside Julien Nitzberg, who serves as showrunner.
The creative team gives Breaking Bear an unusual mix of adult animation, music-world energy, genre comedy, and crime storytelling. Tubi previously described the series as a send-up of classic mob sagas, with the absurd twist of placing that world inside an animated forest full of bears, wolves, and bad decisions.
When Does Breaking Bear Premiere On Tubi?
Breaking Bear premieres exclusively on Tubi on Friday, July 24, with its first two episodes.
The rest of the season will arrive quickly after that, with six more episodes dropping on Friday, July 31.
For viewers looking for something strange, violent, funny, and completely different in the adult animation space, Breaking Bear looks like it could be one of Tubi’s wildest original swings yet.
