BTS’ “ARIRANG” Era Starts With Netflix Live Special and New Feature Documentary

Netflix is set to host a global live BTS comeback show, followed by a feature documentary days later.

Netflix and HYBE are bringing BTS back to the global stage with a live comeback performance and a feature-length documentary, set to air one week apart.

“BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG” will stream live exclusively on Netflix on March 21, 2026, at 8 p.m. KST. That equals 4 a.m. PT and 7 a.m. ET. The event will stream from Gwanghwamun in Seoul, framing the show as a major homecoming moment for the group.

The live special celebrates the release of BTS’ new album, “ARIRANG,” which is set to arrive March 20, 2026. Netflix and HYBE positioned the performance as a worldwide comeback event, with the seven members reuniting for the first time on a global stage.

BTS consists of RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. The group debuted in 2013 and built one of the biggest fan communities in pop music.

A New Album and a Massive World Tour

“ARIRANG” is described as a reflective album that explores identity and roots. The release also sets up a major touring run. After the album arrives, BTS will launch the ARIRANG World Tour (2026–2027). Plans call for 34 regions and 82 shows across Asia, North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and more. The schedule details and ticket information were not included in the announcement.

For fans, the timing turns late March into a stacked comeback week. First comes the album release. Next comes the live show from Seoul. Then comes the documentary.

BTS: THE RETURN Will Follow BTS’ Reunion

Netflix will release “BTS: THE RETURN” on March 27, 2026. The film is directed by Bao Nguyen and billed as a feature-length documentary centered on the group’s return. The documentary follows BTS as they reunite after completing South Korea’s mandatory military service. The story places the group in Los Angeles as they return to making music together, while dealing with time apart and personal change.

The film’s scope aims bigger than studio footage. It also frames the comeback as a reset. The documentary leans into questions about how to begin again, how to respect the past, and how to move forward as a group. The release builds toward “ARIRANG” as the centerpiece, with the film presented as an intimate look at resilience, brotherhood, and reinvention.

The live BTS special also signals Netflix’s continued push into live programming. Netflix billed the event as the first live event broadcast from Korea to be livestreamed globally.
