Cold Storage Brings Brain-Bursting Sci-Fi Chaos to Theaters in 2026

A new sci-fi comedy from David Koepp arrives this February.

A wild blend of sci-fi, horror, and comedy is heading to theaters early next year. Cold Storage, from acclaimed screenwriter David Koepp and producer Gavin Polone, will arrive exclusively in theaters on February 13, 2026, bringing a creature feature packed with paranoia, dark humor, and escalating chaos. The film stars Joe Keery, Georgina Campbell, Sosie Bacon, Vanessa Redgrave, Lesley Manville, and Liam Neeson.

A Routine Night Shift Turns Into a Fight for Humanity

The story centers on Teacake, played by Keery, and Naomi, portrayed by Campbell. Both work low-key night shifts at a self-storage company built over the remnants of an old U.S. military installation. Their biggest concerns are usually boredom and the occasional odd customer. However, their night takes a sharp turn when a long-buried government secret finally wakes up.

A parasitic fungus that was sealed off decades ago escapes from a deep sublevel beneath the facility. As temperatures rise underground, the organism rapidly mutates and spreads. The contamination triggers a chain reaction of brain-controlling and body-bursting horrors across the storage grounds. The threat grows by the minute, putting everyone inside the building at risk.

Liam Neeson Joins the Fight

With the outbreak spiraling out of control, Teacake and Naomi find an unlikely ally. Neeson stars as a retired bioterror operative who knows the organism’s origins and understands how dangerous it can become if it reaches the surface.

Together, the trio battles to contain the evolving menace before it escapes the facility. The clock winds down fast, and the stakes are nothing short of humanity’s survival.

A Genre-Mixing Ride With Big-Screen Ambition

Cold Storage blends science fiction with dark, character-driven comedy. Koepp’s history with genre filmmaking — from Jurassic Park to War of the Worlds — signals a story filled with tension, spectacle, and offbeat humor. The ensemble cast and high-concept premise position the film as a standout entry in early 2026’s theatrical lineup.
