Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return in The Conjuring: Last Rites.

Horror fans, prepare for one last terrifying chapter. New Line Cinema has just released the first trailer for The Conjuring: Last Rites. It is the ninth film in the $2 billion global Conjuring Universe. Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson reprise their roles as real-life paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren. This film promises to be the most emotionally charged and haunting installment yet.

Directed by Michael Chaves (The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It), Last Rites will open exclusively in theaters and IMAX in North America on September 5, 2025. International markets will begin rolling out on September 3.
A Final Farewell to Horror’s Power Couple
Based on true events, The Conjuring: Last Rites follows the Warrens as they face their final and perhaps most harrowing case. The trailer teases a deeply personal journey, not only confronting malevolent forces but also testing the Warrens’ love, faith, and legacy.

The returning duo is joined by Mia Tomlinson and Ben Hardy. They return as their daughter Judy Warren and her boyfriend Tony Spera. Rounding out the cast are Steve Coulter as Father Gordon, Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, John Brotherton, and Shannon Kook.
Horror Royalty Behind the Scenes
The film is produced by franchise creators James Wan and Peter Safran. The screenplay is by Ian Goldberg & Richard Naing and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick, based on a story by Johnson-McGoldrick and Wan. Chaves, a veteran of the series, brings back his visual flair and emotional storytelling for what is shaping up to be a fitting end.
The behind-the-scenes team includes cinematographer Eli Born, production designer John Frankish, editors Elliot Greenberg and Gregory Plotkin, and costume designer Graham Churchyard. The chilling score is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch, with music supervision by Ian Broucek.
An Epic Horror Event
The Conjuring: Last Rites will mark the end of an era for one of the most successful horror franchises of all time. It’s the culmination of over a decade of storytelling that started with The Conjuring in 2013. It built a cinematic universe filled with cursed artifacts, demonic nuns, haunted dolls, and unforgettable nightmares.
This final installment will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures and is expected to dominate the box office this fall. For fans of the Warrens, this is one haunting you won’t want to miss.
