Wardriver sets a high-speed hacking thriller for March release.

“Wardriver” is an action-thriller-crime film that drops viewers into a modern cyber-heist where the getaway car is also the workstation. The movie stars Dane DeHaan, Sasha Calle, Mamoudou Athie, and Jeffrey Donovan, with Rebecca Thomas directing and Daniel Casey writing.
The story follows Cole (DeHaan), a drifter who “wardrives” through the city, scanning for vulnerable networks and stealing on the move. Cole tells himself it is victimless. Then he crosses paths with Oscar (Athie), a black-market tech predator who pushes him into a million-dollar job.
A cyber-heist with real-world fallout
Cole’s new assignment looks clean on paper. In practice, it pulls him into a laundering scheme tied to a mob lawyer (Donovan) and Sarah (Calle), who sits at the center of the operation.

From there, the movie leans into pressure and momentum. Gunfire, double-crosses, and split-second decisions raise the stakes fast. Cole must decide what kind of criminal he is before the city decides for him.
A cast built for tension
DeHaan plays Cole with the edge he has brought to intense roles, including “Chronicle,” “Kill Your Darlings,” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” where he played Harry Osborn. Calle, who plays Sarah, broke out on TV with “The Young and the Restless,” then hit the big screen as Supergirl in “The Flash.”

Athie who plays Oscar is best known for the Netflix horror series “Archive 81,” along with films like “Uncorked” and voice work in Pixar’s “Elemental.” Donovan, who plays the mob lawyer, is best known as Michael Westen on “Burn Notice,” and he has also appeared in films such as “Sicario.”
The creative team behind the wheel
Thomas steps in as director after building a resume that mixes intimate character work with genre storytelling. She is best known for the indie film “Electrick Children” and for television directing work on “Stranger Things” and “Archive 81.” Casey, who wrote the script, has credits that include “F9: The Fast Saga” and “Kin.”
“Wardriver” opens in theaters March 20. It will be available on VOD on March 27.
