Elio is Pixar’s next big hero in a galactic misadventure.

Disney and Pixar are set to take audiences on an intergalactic journey with Elio. It is a brand-new animated feature arriving exclusively in theaters on June 20, 2025.

The film follows 11-year-old Elio, who Yonas Kibreab voices. He is a boy with a boundless imagination and a deep fascination with aliens. Unlike most kids, Elio dreams of being abducted by extraterrestrials—and his wish unexpectedly comes true. Transported millions of miles across the universe, he finds himself in the Communiverse. It is a grand interplanetary organization where representatives from countless galaxies gather.
For centuries, humanity has looked to the stars in search of answers, and in Elio, the universe finally calls back. However, a case of mistaken identity leads to Elio being hailed as Earth’s leader, placing him at the center of an interstellar diplomatic crisis.

As he navigates this cosmic misadventure, Elio is joined by his no-nonsense Aunt Olga (voiced by recent Academy Award winner Zoe Saldaña) and Glordon (Remy Edgerly), an unlikely first friend who just happens to be an alien. Along the way, he encounters a diverse array of otherworldly beings who might just help him figure out where he truly belongs.
This film is directed by Madeline Sharafian (Burrow), Domee Shi (Turning Red), and Adrian Molina (co-director and co-writer of Coco). Elio brings together a talented creative team known for crafting heartfelt and visually stunning animated films. Mary Alice Drumm, who previously served as associate producer on Coco, produces the movie.
The voice cast also includes Brad Garrett as the formidable Lord Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa, and Shirley Henderson as the mysterious OOOOO. Watch the trailer below!
