Tom Cruise’s Stunts Take Center Stage in MoMI’s Mission: Impossible Exhibition

Museum of the Moving Image to launch Mission: Impossible exhibition in April.

The Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) is set to debut Mission: Impossible—Story and Spectacle, on April 18. It celebrates the legacy of Paramount Pictures’ Mission: Impossible franchise ahead of the Memorial Day Weekend release of Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning. The exhibition will offer an in-depth look at the groundbreaking action sequences, meticulous stunt work, and innovative storytelling that have defined the series for nearly three decades.

The exhibition will showcase the artistry and technical precision behind the franchise’s most iconic stunts. It will emphasize Tom Cruise’s dedication to performing many of them practically. Visitors will gain insight into how these high-intensity action scenes are conceptualized, developed, and executed.

Each installment of the Mission: Impossible series will feature a dedicated section that highlights a signature stunt or action moment. Attendees will be immersed in the adrenaline-fueled world of Ethan Hunt and his team through production artifacts, rare behind-the-scenes footage, and exclusive insights into the creative process.

“For nearly 30 years, Mission: Impossible has captivated audiences with its thrilling espionage narratives and unmatched practical stunts,” said Barbara Miller, Deputy Director for Curatorial Affairs at MoMI. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Paramount Pictures to highlight the franchise’s unique achievements and create a dynamic experience for fans.”

The general museum entry will include admission to Mission: Impossible—Story and Spectacle.
