Disney What If? Variant Covers Revealed

Disney’s marvelous mashup features Mickey and Friends as Avengers and X-Men.

Last year, Disney and Marvel came together to celebrate The Walt Disney Company’s 100th anniversary. This year, as Marvel’s iconic superhero teams, the Avengers and the X-Men, celebrate their 60th anniversaries, Disney characters are back in the limelight with a new monthly variant cover series called Disney What If?

These colorful and imaginative covers continue the previous Disney100 Variant Covers.

They kicked off with Amazing Spider-Man #41 and will take you on an exciting journey through the Avengers’ and X-Men’s history. Featuring beloved characters such as Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy, these covers reimagine essential moments in superhero sagas, infused with the charm and whimsy of Disney.

The magic doesn’t stop here. In the upcoming months, you can expect a captivating lineup of covers on select issues of Amazing Spider-Man. These covers will be available in both colored and black-and-white versions, promising to transport you to iconic moments in Marvel lore, now reimagined through the lens of Disney’s beloved characters.

From April through June, Disney What If? is set to release three new covers filled with creativity and nostalgia. In one of the covers, Mickey and friends come together on the West Coast, taking on the roles of beloved Avengers such as Tigra, Mockingbird, and Wonder Man, paying homage to West Coast Avengers #1. Meanwhile, Donald Duck takes center stage in a nod to the Silver Age of comics, reimagining Neal Adams’ X-Men #58 cover and embodying the energy and chaos of the mutant Havok.

Minnie Mouse also appears in this exciting venture, recreating the iconic debut of Dazzler in Uncanny X-Men #130 and capturing the essence of the dazzling mutant with her signature style. With each new cover, Disney What If? invites fans to join in on a thrilling journey through Marvel history, where familiar faces take on new roles and beloved stories are given a delightful twist. As Disney and Marvel continue to collaborate, the possibilities are endless, ensuring that the magic of storytelling knows no bounds.
