Goku takes flight in iconic Saiyan form to celebrate 40 years of Dragon Ball.

On Thanksgiving Day, Goku, one of anime’s most recognizable characters, will make a spectacular return to the Big Apple in a brand-new form. Earth’s mightiest warrior from the global hit anime franchise Dragon Ball will debut in his iconic Saiyan form at the 98th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 28, 2024. This new balloon will feature Goku with jet black hair and his signature orange martial arts uniform, greeting millions of Parade spectators with an expressive smile and salute, marking the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Ball franchise.

Measuring a stunning 70.5 feet long, 33 feet wide, and 41.5 feet tall, Goku will be a striking sight during his inaugural flight from Central Park West to Herald Square, home of Macy’s flagship store. Skilled balloon handlers will lead Goku as he glides through the parade, eliciting thunderous applause and cheers from millions of live spectators and viewers nationwide.

The Dragon Ball phenomenon began with Akira Toriyama’s original manga series in 1984 and has since grown into an extensive franchise featuring six episodic series and 21 feature films.
