Dune prequel series, Dune: Prophecy, set to premiere November 17 on HBO.
HBO unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming original drama series, Dune: Prophecy, during a special panel at New York Comic Con. Co-produced with Legendary Television, the six-episode season will premiere Sunday, November 17, at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO. Fans can also catch new episodes each week on the streaming platform Max.
The series dives into the rich and expansive universe created by the renowned author Frank Herbert.
The series’ story takes place 10,000 years before Paul Atreides’ rise. Inspired by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson’s novel Sisterhood of Dune, Dune: Prophecy follows the journey of two Harkonnen sisters as they battle forces that threaten humanity’s future. The narrative focuses on their efforts to establish the foundation of the fabled Bene Gesserit, a powerful sect that plays a significant role in the Dune saga.
The trailer was revealed to much anticipation at NYCC. It hints at an epic story filled with political intrigue, mystical elements, and intense power struggles. Viewers are given a glimpse of the vast desert landscapes, elaborate costumes, and a dark, foreboding atmosphere that captures the essence of the Dune universe. The teaser promises thrilling action sequences, complex characters, and a deep exploration of themes like power, destiny, and survival.
The ensemble cast of Dune: Prophecy is headlined by Emily Watson and Olivia Williams. They portray the two central Harkonnen sisters. Joining them is a stellar lineup of actors.
