Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is a murder mystery you won’t see coming.

Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is set to take audiences on a heart-pounding journey filled with mystery, survival, and shocking revelations. The new thriller series, which premiered early on MGM+ ahead of its official debut, will roll out new episodes every Sunday at 9:00 PM ET/PT. Created by Anthony Horowitz CBE and produced by Eleventh Hour Films, the show promises a tense, edge-of-your-seat experience with a puzzle that keeps viewers guessing until the final moment.
The series follows nine survivors of a plane crash in the Mexican jungle. However, survival takes a terrifying turn when they begin dying one by one, leaving the group to question whether the real danger isn’t the jungle—but each other. As secrets unravel and paranoia takes hold, the story builds to an explosive reveal that has already left early viewers clamoring for more.
A Puzzle That Hooks You In
Eric McCormack (Will & Grace, Travelers) and Lydia Wilson (Requiem, Star Trek Beyond), who star in the series, shared their excitement about the show’s intricate storytelling. McCormack, who portrays one of the stranded passengers, was immediately drawn to the script.
“I found myself continually surprised,” McCormack shared. “Once I saw the whole puzzle put together, I was like, yeah, I got to be part of this.”
For Wilson, the mystery unfolded similarly to how it does for the audience. “They drip-fed me a little bit,” she revealed. “I got episodes one to four, just like you. And then when I flew out to Gran Canaria, I read the final episodes and had not a clue. So I’m exactly in the same situation you and your wife are in right now.”

Building Tension and Theories
The show’s eerie realism struck a personal chord with many viewers, including fans who have connections to Mexico. As the suspense builds, the actors believe the experience is best shared with others.
“This is definitely a show that needs to be watched with company around you, someone by your side to share theories with as this mystery unfolds,” McCormack noted.
With each episode, new alliances are forged, enemies emerge, and the survivors’ fragile unity is tested. Episode 102, Black Angels (March 9), sees the group hunting for food and water while realizing that anyone could be a target. By Episode 103, Rapido (March 16), tensions reach a boiling point with the most violent death yet.
Survival Strategies and the Ultimate Question: Who Will Make It Out?
If faced with a real-life survival scenario, McCormack and Wilson considered which of their past characters they’d want by their side.
“For me, it would be Grant McLaren from Travelers because he’s traveled through time and he’s a leader. He would think of smart things—much smarter than Will Truman, who would probably just tidy up the camp,” McCormack joked. Wilson, on the other hand, would choose her own character from Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue. “I think Sonia is the most capable character I’ve played to date,” she said.

When asked to sum up their characters’ survival strategies in three words, McCormack didn’t hesitate: “Trust no one.” Wilson echoed the sentiment, adding, “Scan everybody all the time. Watch, ration, and hydrate.”
What’s Next?
As the season unfolds, viewers can expect more shocking deaths, dark secrets, and a growing sense of claustrophobia. With episodes set to air weekly, the mystery will only deepen, keeping audiences hooked until the final moment. With a stellar cast that includes David Ajala, Peter Gadiot, and Siobhán McSweeney, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue is shaping up to be one of the most intriguing thrillers of the year.
For now, as McCormack wryly warned, “Don’t take this airline.”
