First Trailer for Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie Promises Purr-fect Big Screen Fun

‘Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie’ brings fan-favorite series to the big screen.

DreamWorks Animation is turning its beloved preschool series into a theatrical event with Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie. It marks the first feature-length film inspired by the global streaming hit.

Since its premiere in 2021, Gabby’s Dollhouse has become a worldwide phenomenon on Netflix. Created by Blue’s Clues veterans Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey, the mixed-media series blends live action and animation. It follows Gabby as she unboxes surprises and explores a whimsical world of cat-themed characters inside her magical dollhouse.

In the new film, Gabby, voiced again by Laila Lockhart Kraner, embarks on her biggest adventure. When her cherished dollhouse ends up in the hands of eccentric collector Vera—voiced by Academy Award nominee Kristen Wiig—Gabby hits the road with her Grandma Gigi, played by music icon Gloria Estefan, in a quest to recover it. Their journey takes them to the bustling city of Cat Francisco and across the real world, where Gabby must reunite the Gabby Cats and bring her magical world back together.

The star-studded voice cast includes Saturday Night Live alums Ego Nwodim, Kyle Mooney, and Melissa Villaseñor, along with Emmy-nominated actors Thomas Lennon, Jason Mantzoukas, and Fortune Feimster. Fan-favorite characters like Pandy Paws, CatRat, Cakey, and DJ Catnip all return, voiced by the original cast.

Ryan Crego directs the film. He is best known for Arlo the Alligator Boy. Gabby’s Dollhouse is produced by longtime DreamWorks collaborator Steven Schweickart (Kung Fu Panda 4, The Croods). The animated show was the ninth most-streamed original series in 2024. Netflix recently expanded the show to 100 episodes, with Season 11 premiering in February 2025.

Known for its playful spirit and emphasis on creativity and problem-solving, Gabby’s Dollhouse champions a growth mindset by teaching kids to learn from their mistakes and embrace imaginative thinking. The upcoming film promises to bring that same message to the big screen, in a larger-than-life adventure for kids and families alike.

Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie is set to sprinkle magic in theaters on September 26.
