GOAT Drops New Trailer for Sony’s All-Animal Sports Comedy

GOAT teases a high-energy animal sports adventure.

Sony Pictures Animation released a new trailer today for GOAT. It is the studio’s latest original feature following its acclaimed work on Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The film will arrive in theaters on February 13, 2026, and brings together the artists behind KPop Demon Hunters and producers Stephen Curry and Erick Peyton. The trailer offers an early look at a vibrant world where animals compete for glory in a high-intensity sport called roarball.

A Story About Underdogs, Courage, and Changing the Game

The film centers on Will, a small goat with oversized ambition. His dream of going pro seems impossible in a league filled with some of the world’s fastest and fiercest animals. However, Will earns a surprise chance to join a top roarball team, pushing him into a spotlight many assume he can’t handle. The trailer shows fast-paced action, bold animation choices, and Will’s determination to prove that size never decides greatness.

As the newcomer on a team that doubts him, Will faces skepticism from every direction. Yet the footage underscores how he uses creativity, grit, and heart to shake up a sport that favors the biggest players. The message is simple: “smalls can ball.”

A Strong Creative Team Behind the Film

Tyree Dillihay directs the feature with Adam Rosette serving as co-director. Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley wrote the script, which takes inspiration from Chris Tougas’ book Funky Dunks. Michelle Raimo Kouyate, Rodney Rothman, Adam Rosenberg, Curry, and Peyton produce the project, with Rick Mischel and Fonda Snyder serving as executive producers. The trailer highlights a tone that blends humor, action, and heartfelt sports drama.

A Stacked Ensemble Cast

The voice cast includes Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, Stephen Curry, Nicola Coughlan, Nick Kroll, David Harbour, Jenifer Lewis, Aaron Pierre, Patton Oswalt, Andrew Santino, Bobby Lee, Eduardo Franco, Sherry Cola, Jelly Roll, and Jennifer Hudson. Each brings a distinct personality to the film’s animal athletes, coaches, and competitors.

With its energetic trailer, GOAT positions itself as a high-powered, family-friendly comedy that celebrates underdogs and the thrill of chasing a dream. Sony Pictures Animation looks to deliver another standout project when the film hits theaters next February.
