Goosebumps returns with ‘The Vanishing.’
The official trailer for “Goosebumps: The Vanishing,” the upcoming season of the popular anthology series inspired by R.L. Stine’s iconic “Goosebumps” books, was unveiled during New York Comic Con. “Goosebumps: The Vanishing” follows the story of twins Cece and Devin Brewer. They are sent to spend the summer in Gravesend, Brooklyn, with their father after their parents’ divorce. Soon after arriving, the siblings discover a dark, sinister presence lurks in their neighborhood. As they investigate, they become entwined in a mysterious tale involving four teenagers who mysteriously disappeared in 1994. Cece, Devin, and their friends must confront eerie secrets. They face supernatural threats to uncover the truth behind the vanishing.
All eight new season episodes will premiere on Friday, Jan. 10, 2025.
The cast includes David Schwimmer as Anthony. Ana Ortiz stars as Jen. Jayden Bartels portrays Cece. Sam McCarthy is Devin. Elijah M. Cooper plays CJ, Galilea La Salvia as Frankie, Francesca Noel as Alex, and Stony Blyden as Trey.
The new season draws inspiration from several classic “Goosebumps” books. These include “Stay Out of the Basement,” “Monster Blood,” “The Ghost Next Door,” and “Welcome to Camp Nightmare.” It promises to blend nostalgia with fresh, modern scares. The original book series remains one of the bestselling children’s franchises of all time from R.L. Stine. “Goosebumps: The Vanishing” seeks to honor that legacy. It also introduces new elements to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Produced by Sony Pictures Television, “Goosebumps: The Vanishing” was developed by Nicholas Stoller and Rob Letterman, with Hilary Winston and Letterman serving as showrunners. The series is a collaboration between Sony Pictures Television, Disney Branded Television, Original Film, Stoller Global Solutions, and Scholastic Entertainment.
