More than a year after the passing of Jason David Frank, the legendary Power Rangers star, his daughter, Jenna Frank, is keeping his memory alive through heartfelt tributes, fan interactions and a commitment to mental health awareness. In a recent interview, she opened up about grief, cherished memories and little-known aspects of her father’s life.

Embracing Change While Honoring the Past

Jenna recently relocated from Houston to Los Angeles, a move she describes as “wild.” “I actually live here now. It’s wild. I actually had to make that move from Houston,” she shared. Amidst the transition, she remains focused on celebrating her father’s impact on fans worldwide. His final film, Legend of the White Dragon, is set for release in 2025, a project he was deeply passionate about. “This is the year of the dragon 2025. This is the year,” she said. “There has been multiple different jumps on this film. Like we have a Marvel producer now on our film.”

Navigating Grief Through Healing and Connection

Losing her father in 2022, just a year after the passing of her sister, Jenna faced an emotional journey that reshaped her outlook on life. “I lost my sister the year before my dad and you know, my dad had actually found my sister passed away. So there was just a lot that had happened within these 13 months of losing both of them,” she revealed. At first, she coped by staying busy and traveling but later turned to mindfulness practices such as journaling, meditation, and yoga. “I just got out of hot yoga, like just stuff that I never thought,” she said. She now shares her experiences through her podcast, Unlock True Healing, aiming to help others dealing with grief.

A Superhero On and Off the Screen

While Jason David Frank was known for his iconic role as Tommy Oliver in Power Rangers, Jenna recalls a lesser-known side of him. “Honestly, my dad was a real superhero, just like in real life,” she said. “I remember multiple times, like multiple times, you know, if a car was broken down, he would get out of the car and go push the car. You know, or any time there may have been like, you know, homeless, he, you know, goes and gets them food and goes. And I remember one time there was this homeless man. He got him a hotel for like 3 days, and he just chilled with him. He cut his hair, he cut his hair, and he got food. Like it just literally watched movies with him like that was him in real life.”

Keeping Jason David Frank’s Legacy Alive

Jenna has embraced the convention circuit, meeting fans who share personal stories about her father’s influence. “We’re grieving together,” she said, emphasizing the powerful bond between her family and his supporters. She also participates in suicide prevention initiatives, advocating for men’s mental health, an issue close to her heart. “That’s why, you know, me and my mom have been doing suicide prevention walks and just being like in that environment and just to really shed light and just to speak the truth about mental health and men’s mental health is so serious.”

Beyond conventions, Jenna is creating a grief workbook and exploring life coaching to help others navigate their struggles. “I never thought I could, like I never thought I was in my own darkness,” she admitted. “But yeah, you know, like, there’s really not one specific lesson. I would say it’s more of really my heart. And I guess the way I treat people, the way I love them, and the way I don’t judge.”

Looking Ahead

Though she is taking a brief break from appearances, Jenna remains committed to continuing her father’s mission. Whether through advocacy, upcoming conventions, or her personal journey of healing, she ensures Jason David Frank’s spirit endures. “His legacy isn’t just about Power Rangers,” she said. “It’s about the love, kindness, and strength he showed every day.”
