IT series is a chilling return to Stephen King’s iconic universe.
HBO has unveiled the official trailer for its upcoming original drama series IT: Welcome to Derry, premiering Sunday, October 26, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The series will debut on HBO and be available to stream on HBO Max. The eight-episode season will roll out weekly, with the finale set for Sunday, December 14.
Expanding Stephen King’s Terrifying Legacy
Developed for television by filmmakers Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti (IT, IT Chapter Two, The Flash) and writer-producer Jason Fuchs (IT Chapter Two, Wonder Woman, Argylle), the series takes audiences back into the unsettling world of Derry, Maine. Andy Muschietti, who helmed both IT feature films, returns to direct multiple episodes of the series.
Set within Stephen King’s IT universe, the series draws inspiration from the acclaimed novel and expands the vision established in the blockbuster films.
The Cast
The ensemble cast includes Jovan Adepo, Taylour Paige, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso. Bill Skarsgård reprises his chilling role as Pennywise the Dancing Clown.
Behind the Production
IT: Welcome to Derry is produced by HBO and Warner Bros. Television. The series was developed by Andy Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs and is based on Stephen King’s novel. The Muschiettis also executive produce through their Double Dream production company.
With its October release, IT: Welcome to Derry promises to deliver a haunting new chapter in King’s timeless horror legacy, reintroducing fans to the horrors lurking beneath Derry’s small-town surface.
