John Cena Survives Elimination Chamber, Turns Heel in Shocking Alliance with The Rock

John Cena betrays Cody Rhodes and sets up a shocking WrestleMania 41 showdown.

WWE’s Elimination Chamber ended in jaw-dropping fashion Saturday night as John Cena not only secured his place in the WrestleMania 41 main event but also stunned the wrestling world by turning heel alongside The Rock.

The Chamber match itself was a brutal battle of attrition. Drew McIntyre and Seth Rollins started the carnage, trading heavy blows while CM Punk taunted them from his pod. Damian Priest entered next, only to be caught in the crossfire of a chaotic Tower of Doom. Logan Paul ignited the crowd with high-flying offense but quickly fell victim to Priest’s overpowering assault. Priest later delivered a breathtaking Old School hurricanrana to McIntyre, sending the Toronto fans into a frenzy.

The energy exploded when Cena emerged from his pod, clearing house with a barrage of Attitude Adjustments. His momentum was halted by a Claymore Kick from McIntyre, who Priest soon eliminated via crucifix pin. Paul capitalized on McIntyre’s rage, hitting a frog splash from atop a pod to take Priest out of the match.

Punk entered last, immediately making an impact. The long-standing rivalry between him and Cena reignited as they traded holds and finishers, much to the crowd’s delight. However, Rollins disrupted their showdown, leading to a frantic exchange that saw Punk eliminate Paul with a GTS. The match intensified as Cena and Punk teamed up for a tribute to The Hart Foundation before turning on each other. Cena’s raw strength shone when he countered a crossbody into an Attitude Adjustment, but Punk survived.

The final moments were pure chaos. Rollins reentered the fray, attempting to put Punk away, only for Cena to intervene. Punk eliminated Rollins but was immediately ambushed by Cena, who hit an Attitude Adjustment that nearly sealed the deal. Punk retaliated with a GTS, but Cena kicked out just in time. A final sequence saw Rollins get a measure of revenge, stomping Punk into the cage floor. Sensing his moment, Cena locked in the STF, rendering Punk unconscious to win the match and punch his ticket to WrestleMania.

Cena’s Betrayal and The Rock’s Challenge

The night’s most shocking moment came after the match when John Cena and Cody Rhodes shook hands—only for The Rock to interrupt, accompanied by rapper Travis Scott. The Rock issued an ominous ultimatum, demanding Rhodes’ “soul” in exchange for an immortal legacy. When Rhodes defiantly refused, dropping an expletive-laden rejection, the unthinkable happened.

With a scowl, Cena delivered a low blow to Rhodes before hitting an Attitude Adjustment. The assault escalated as he pummeled Rhodes with Rolex-assisted punches and a brutal microphone shot. Cena lifted the Undisputed WWE Championship with a cold, emotionless stare before slamming it over Rhodes’ head. As a bloodied Rhodes struggled, Cena locked in a chokehold while The Rock viciously lashed him with a weight belt.

For over a decade, WWE fans have clamored for a Cena heel turn. In Toronto, they finally got it—most emphatically and brutally imaginable.

Cena heads to WrestleMania 41 to challenge Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. But with The Rock by his side and his legacy forever altered, this isn’t the Cena fans once knew. WrestleMania just became must-see television when it goes to Las Vegas on April 19th and 20th.
