LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy is a 4-part Disney+ special.
Disney+ has given fans a sneak peek into the whimsical universe of “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy.” This animated special, set to premiere on September 13th, marks the continuation of the iconic collaboration between Lucasfilm and The LEGO Group. Showcasing a delightful blend of creativity and comedy, “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy” promises to be a laugh-out-loud celebration of the Star Wars universe through the lens of LEGO bricks.
The storyline follows Sig Greebling, voiced by Gaten Matarazzo, as he stumbles upon a powerful artifact that reshapes the Star Wars Galaxy into a topsy-turvy version where heroes and villains swap roles. Sig must navigate this chaotic landscape and restore order. The voice cast is brimming with talent, featuring Gaten Matarazzo (Sig Greebling), Tony Revolori (Dev Greebling), Bobby Moynihan (Jedi Bob), Marsai Martin (Yesi Scala), Michael Cusack (Servo), Ahmed Best (Darth Jar Jar), and the legendary Mark Hamill returning as Luke Skywalker.
Executive producer James Waugh reflects on the enduring partnership.
He said, “It’s hard to believe that it’s been twenty-five years since the ground-breaking collaboration between Lucasfilm and The LEGO Group began. LEGO Star Wars has given our fans the power to unlock their imaginations and play with the galaxy’s elements in any way they can conceive… and build.” Waugh also praises the comedic genius of showrunners Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, known for their hilarious work on popular animated projects such as “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” and “Pokémon Detective Pikachu.”
