Mark Feuerstein discusses his role in ‘Hotel Cocaine,’ an MGM+ series.

Mark Feuerstein, best known for his role as Dr. Hank Lawson on USA Network’s “Royal Pains,” is returning to television in a new and intriguing series titled “Hotel Cocaine.” The series takes viewers back to the wild and glamorous Miami cocaine scene of the late ’70s and early ’80s, focusing on the infamous Mutiny Hotel. Feuerstein joins this vibrant ensemble, bringing his unique charm and acting prowess to the mix. Watch my conversation with Feuerstein about his light-hearted role in the series.

“Hotel Cocaine” centers on Roman Compte, played by “Law & Order: SVU” alum Danny Pino, a Cuban exile and the general manager of the Mutiny Hotel. The Mutiny was a hotbed of activity, attracting a mix of Florida businessmen, politicians, international drug lords, CIA and FBI agents, models, sports stars, and musicians. It was a place where opulence and danger mingled, creating a setting reminiscent of Casablanca but fueled by cocaine.

Diverse roles across television and film have marked Feuerstein’s career.

His breakout role came in “Royal Pains.” In the series, he played the affable Dr. Hank Lawson, a concierge doctor in the Hamptons. The show was a hit, running for eight seasons from 2009 to 2016 and solidifying Feuerstein’s place in the hearts of TV audiences. His performance was praised for its warmth, wit, and relatability, which he brings to his new role in “Hotel Cocaine.”

In addition to “Royal Pains,” Mark Feuerstein has appeared in numerous other television shows and films. He starred in the comedy-drama series “9JKL,” which he also co-created. It is based on his own life living in an apartment building with his family. His film credits include “What Women Want,” “In Her Shoes,” and “The Muse,” showcasing his versatility as an actor.

“Hotel Cocaine” is a gripping series that sheds light on a fascinating and turbulent period in Miami’s history. The show’s blend of historical drama and crime thriller elements will captivate audiences. As the series delves into Roman Compte’s life and the chaotic world of the Mutiny Hotel, viewers can expect a rollercoaster of emotions and high-stakes drama. “Hotel Cocaine” is a standout addition to the television landscape. It offers a fresh perspective on the notorious Miami cocaine era.
