Michael B. Jordan’s The Thomas Crown affair assembles a priceless cast.
SINNERS star Michael B. Jordan‘s take on The Thomas Crown Affair movies might be swooping into theaters much sooner than audiences expect! Decades after Pierce Brosnan‘s 1999 remake of the 1968 classic, Amazon MGM Studios will be bringing a new adaptation in 2027 as a new poster has officially dropped. An additional teaser will make its way to social media tomorrow!
The Thomas Crown Affair follows Thomas Crown, played by Jordan, a billionaire who decides to go on a heist to steal a priceless painting. However, when an insurance investigator is hot on his heels, both of them gradually fall in love with each other, leading to a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
In addition to acting in the film, Jordan will also be directing the upcoming remake. Jordan’s journey in making this new adaptation began a decade ago in 2016, when he pitched a remake of the 1968 version to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. However, the confirmation of a reboot wouldn’t be announced until 2023, when Amazon Studios merged to create Amazon MGM Studios.
This version of the film is one of Jordan’s biggest passion projects he’s ever done, as he’s stated in the past. In a November interview with Variety, Jordan said that his take on the franchise is “more personal.” “The stakes are higher. Still got the fashion, romance,” stated.
“I saw the 1968 Steve McQueen version — the split screens, the style. After Creed, MGM asked what I wanted to do next. I said, ‘Thomas Crown Affair.’ I need that.”
Earlier this year, CinemaCon attendees got a first look at Jordan’s vision of The Thomas Crown Affair. Attendees got to witness Jordan enacting daring heists across Europe, from high castles to bustling cities, and much more. Kenneth Branagh’s character seemed to be the target that Jordan’s Thomas Crown seems to track, but things might not go his way.

The main cast for The Thomas Crown Affair includes Kenneth Branagh, Adria Arjona, Lily Gladstone, Danai Guria, Pilou Asbæk. Jordan directs and produces with writers Drew Pearce and Jason Hall from a story by Alan R. Trustman and Drew Pearce.
Hall and Alan R. Trustman executive produce alongside Jordan, Elizabeth Raposo, Marc Toberoff, Patrick McCormick, Charles Roven, who serve as producers.
The Thomas Crown Affair releases in theaters on March 5, 2027.
