Inside the high-stakes world of Showtime’s The Agency.
Showtime’s new political thriller The Agency will premiere with a two-episode release on Friday, Nov. 29. It will be available exclusively to Paramount+ subscribers on the Paramount+ with Showtime® plan before its on-air debut. To drum up excitement, Showtime has unveiled an “Inside The Agency” featurette, offering fans a sneak peek into the highly anticipated series.
Led by two-time Academy Award nominee Michael Fassbender, The Agency boasts an impressive ensemble cast. Fassbender stars as Martian, a covert CIA agent forced to leave his undercover life and return to London Station. The series regulars include Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, Alex Reznik, Andrew Brooke, Harriet Sansom Harris, India Fowler, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, Reza Brojerdi, and Richard Gere. Guest stars include Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville. At the same time, the recurring cast features notable actors like Adam Nagaitis, Ambreen Razia, Bilal Hasna, David Harewood, Kurt Egyiawan, Ray BLK, Sabrina Wu, and Tom Vaughan-Lawlor.

The series delivers a fresh perspective on high-stakes espionage. The plot follows Martian as he navigates a complex web of personal and professional challenges. Recalled from his deep-cover mission, he faces the haunting pull of a past romance, igniting a volatile mix of emotions that threaten his carefully constructed life. As the line between duty and desire blurs, Martian and those around him become embroiled in a high-stakes game of international intrigue, with lives and loyalties on the line.
Le Bureau des Legendes, from which The Agency draws inspiration, offers a look into France’s external security agency. It centers on the operations and lives of agents assigned long-term undercover roles. Living under assumed identities, these agents are tasked with cultivating sources in foreign territories crucial to French interests.
With its complex characters and a captivating plot, The Agency promises to be a compelling addition to Showtime’s lineup. It explores the tension between duty and personal bonds amid the dangerous world of espionage.
