My Hero Academia: You’re Next Hollywood Premiere Announced for Beyond Fest

What to expect from My Hero Academia: You’re Next.

Beyond Fest has announced it will host the North American premiere of My Hero Academia: You’re Next. It is the fourth theatrical release in the hugely successful anime franchise. The special screening will occur on Sunday, October 6, at the iconic Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. The film’s U.S. and Canadian theatrical debut is set for October 11. Popular Japanese voice actors Daiki Yamashita, who voices Izuku Midoriya, and Kenta Miyake, the voice of All Might and Dark Might, will be attending the event.

My Hero Academia: You’re Next is the first film in the series to be distributed by Toho International. They are the company behind the Oscar-winning hit Godzilla Minus One. The movie premiered in Japan on August 2, where it quickly dominated the box office, claiming the number-one spot. By August 25, the film had earned over 2.74 billion yen in revenue, with more than 1.9 million tickets sold.

“The North American release for My Hero Academia: You’re Next is right around the corner. We’re thrilled to be partnering with Beyond Fest to welcome fans and celebrate the film in style at the beautiful Egyptian Theater,” said Stacy Burt, Director of Marketing at Toho International. “The combination of action and story is perfect for the big screen. Attendees who get to experience it first at Beyond Fest are in for a treat.”

Beyond Fest founder Christian Parkes echoed the excitement. He said, “It’s a true honor to have such a revered partner as Toho International at this year’s Beyond Fest; they represent everything we love in cinema. My Hero Academia: You’re Next is absolutely electric, and bringing Daiki Yamashita and Kenta Miyake to the U.S. is a dream for us all—it’s going to be an incredibly special event.”

Based on the best-selling manga by Kohei Horikoshi, My Hero Academia follows Izuku Midoriya and his classmates at U.A. High School as they train to become heroes in a world where 80% of the population has superpowers known as “Quirks.” My Hero Academia: You’re Next introduces a new villain, Dark Might, who claims to be the new Symbol of Peace and poses a dangerous threat to the heroes.

The film will be released in the U.S. and Canada on October 11, with English subtitles and dubbed versions available.
