Netflix Brings Beloved Dr. Seuss Characters to Life with Three New Fall Releases

Netflix welcomes Dr. Seuss magic this Fall with new shows and a family special.

This fall, Netflix is delving into the colorful, rhyming world of Dr. Seuss with a trio of family-friendly titles that bring iconic characters to life in animation. Starting in September, fans can enjoy two brand-new preschool series and a 45-minute special perfect for family movie night. The lineup includes Red Fish, Blue Fish, Horton!, and The Sneetches — each inspired by best-selling Seuss books that have charmed generations of readers.

Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish

Premieres September 8, 2025

Episodes: 5 x 25 minutes

Based on the perennial Seuss favorite that has sold over 20 million copies, Red Fish, Blue Fish is a preschool comedy series following two fun-loving fish friends. Voiced by Brian Drummond (Red) and Andrea Libman (Blue), the odd-couple duo explores opposite concepts in each episode, helping young viewers understand the world through giggles and goofy adventures. Naomi Tan narrates the series.

An episode from Red Fish, Blue Fish will also appear in Netflix’s Hello School! Playlist, a playful back-to-school collection designed to ease young kids into the classroom experience with familiar friends and exciting new stories.

Dr. Seuss’s Horton!

Premieres October 6, 2025

Episodes: 7 x 21 minutes

Audiences will get to know Horton like never before in Dr. Seuss’s Horton!, an animated series that follows a younger version of the iconic elephant — a character whose stories have sold nearly 8 million copies. Joined by his best friend Samson, Horton sets out on whimsical adventures to help the citizens of the Jungle of Nool.

Ethan Monaghan voices Horton alongside Max Mittelman as Samson and Kitana Turnbull as Jane Kangaroo in this energetic reimagining of a Seuss classic.

Dr. Seuss’s The Sneetches

Premieres November 3, 2025

Runtime: 45 minutes

Rounding out the Seuss lineup is a heartwarming 45-minute special, The Sneetches, directed by Bronagh O’Hanlon. Adapted from the 1961 story collection that has sold over 3 million copies, the special follows Stella, a Star-Belly Sneetch, and Pearl, a Moon-Belly Sneetch, as they break away from their divided communities to discover that what makes Sneetches different is also what makes them stronger together.

Amari McCoy, Sophie Petersen, and Christopher Fitzgerald lead the voice cast in this poignant story about friendship, understanding, and unity — perfect for a family movie night with the little ones.

With vibrant animation and heartwarming messages, Netflix’s upcoming Dr. Seuss lineup is a celebration of timeless storytelling and the magic of childhood wonder. Whether it’s exploring opposites under the sea, lending a helping trunk in the jungle, or building bridges on the beach, these shows promise plenty of lessons, laughs, and love for fans of all ages.
