A New “Phineas and Ferb” Movie Is Coming, and the Timeline Is in Trouble

New “Phineas and Ferb” movie greenlit for Disney+ and Disney Channel.

Disney is expanding the “Phineas and Ferb” universe with a new animated movie for Disney+ and Disney Channel. The time-warp adventure comes from series co-creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh, marking their third movie for the franchise. Production begins this year.

The announcement also kicks off a big weekend for the brand. Eight new “Agent P Under C” shorts debut Friday, Jan. 16. After that, all-new episodes of “Phineas and Ferb” arrive Saturday, Jan. 17. The content will roll out across Disney+, Disney Channel, and select Disney digital platforms.

A Timeline Twist Sends Danville Into Chaos

The movie centers on Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz and another experiment gone wrong. His latest time-travel attempt backfires and erases the moment Phineas’ mom meets Ferb’s dad. As a result, Phineas and Ferb never become brothers.

With their family bond erased, every day becomes “merely adequate.” However, the situation quickly turns bigger than boredom. Reality begins to unravel, and the future hangs in the balance. Phineas and Ferb must restore the timeline before it is too late.

The Full Voice Cast Returns

The original cast returns for the movie, including Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn and David Errigo Jr. as Ferb Fletcher. Ashley Tisdale is back as Candace Flynn, with Caroline Rhea returning as Linda Flynn-Fletcher. Alyson Stoner reprises Isabella Garcia-Shapiro.

Meanwhile, Maulik Pancholy returns as Baljeet, and Bobby Gaylor returns as Buford. Dee Bradley Baker again voices Perry the Platypus. Povenmire returns as Dr. Doofenshmirtz, and Marsh voices Major Francis Monogram.

Behind the scenes, Povenmire and Marsh return as co-creators and executive producers. Kate Kondell and Jeff Howard wrote the script. Bob Bowen directs, and Brandi Young produces.

New Shorts Friday, New Episodes Saturday

On Friday, Jan. 16, eight all-new shorts, “Agent P Under C,” will debut on Disney+. Episodes will also roll out on Disney Channel and Disney Channel Animation YouTube. The digital series follows Perry the Platypus as Agent P on a new undercover mission.

This time, Perry takes on animal adversaries from A.N.A.T.H.E.M.A., short for the Alliance of Nefarious Animals That Have an Exceptionally Memorable Acronym.

On Saturday, Jan. 17, new episodes of “Phineas and Ferb” will drop on Disney+. Guest stars include Meghan Trainor, Anna Faris, Cristo Fernández, Megan Rapinoe, and Iain Stirling. The drop includes a special 22-minute episode, “VENDPOCALYPSE THE MUSICAL,” which will also be available on Disney Channel and Disney Channel Animation YouTube.

A Franchise Resurgence Keeps Building

The greenlight builds on recent momentum for the franchise. Last summer’s fifth season premiere reunited Povenmire and Marsh after almost a decade. The show continues to draw viewers across generations.
