Leslie Mann, Isla Fisher, Michelle Buteau, and Anna Faris are heading on a much-needed getaway in SPA WEEKEND. The new comedy will arrive in theaters on Friday, August 21, 2026.
Jon Lucas and Scott Moore directed and wrote the film. The filmmaking duo previously worked together on popular comedies such as BAD MOMS and THE HANGOVER. Their latest project brings together four major comedy stars for a chaotic luxury retreat filled with friendship, laughter, and terrible decisions.
SPA WEEKEND follows four lifelong friends who have become overwhelmed by careers, relationships, families, and everyday responsibilities. Along the way, they realize they have forgotten how to care for themselves and maintain the friendship that once brought them together.
Burned out and overdue for a break, the group escapes to a luxury spa retreat. What begins as an opportunity to relax quickly becomes an unforgettable weekend filled with fun, emotional discoveries, and increasingly bad choices.
SPA WEEKEND Features a Popular Comedy Cast
Leslie Mann leads the ensemble after appearing in several memorable comedies. Her notable work includes THE 40-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN, KNOCKED UP, THIS IS 40, and BLOCKERS. Mann has frequently balanced outrageous comedy with heartfelt performances, making her a natural fit for the film’s mix of humor and friendship.
Isla Fisher is best known for her roles in WEDDING CRASHERS, CONFESSIONS OF A SHOPAHOLIC, TAG, and NOW YOU SEE ME. She also appeared in the mystery-comedy series WOLF LIKE ME. Fisher has built a career around energetic performances and characters who are often unpredictable.
Michelle Buteau created and stars in the Netflix comedy series SURVIVAL OF THE THICKEST. She has also appeared in FIRST WIVES CLUB, MARRY ME, ALWAYS BE MY MAYBE, and BABES. Buteau is also known as the host of Netflix’s reality competition series THE CIRCLE.
Anna Faris became a comedy favorite through her role as Cindy Campbell in the SCARY MOVIE franchise. Her other notable films include THE HOUSE BUNNY, JUST FRIENDS, and OVERBOARD. Faris also starred alongside Allison Janney in the long-running television comedy MOM.
Together, the four actresses bring extensive comedy experience to a story about friendship, exhaustion, and the importance of occasionally escaping everyday life.
BAD MOMS Directors Return With Another Friendship Comedy
Lucas and Moore previously wrote THE HANGOVER and directed BAD MOMS. Both movies found comedy in characters abandoning their normal responsibilities and becoming caught in increasingly ridiculous situations.
SPA WEEKEND appears to bring that same style of comedy to a luxury retreat. However, the story will also focus on the emotional bond between its four central friends as they reconnect after becoming consumed by their separate lives.
SPA WEEKEND will be released in theaters on Friday, August 21, 2026.
