Critics Choice Super Awards 2026 Nominees Announced

Superman and The Boys lead this year’s nominations.

The Critics Choice Association has announced the nominees for the 6th annual Critics Choice Super Awards. The awards celebrate popular, fan-driven genres across film and television, including superhero, science fiction, fantasy, horror, and action.

The winners will be announced through a press release on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Superman Leads the 2026 Film Nominations

Superman leads this year’s film categories with six nominations, including Best Superhero Movie.

David Corenswet, Edi Gathegi, and Nicholas Hoult were each nominated for Best Actor in a Superhero Movie. Hoult also received a separate nomination for Best Villain in a Movie.

Rachel Brosnahan earned a nomination for Best Actress in a Superhero Movie.

Several major releases followed Superman with four nominations each. Those films include Masters of the Universe, Obsession, Project Hail Mary, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and Weapons.

The lineup reflects a wide range of blockbuster franchises, original genre stories, horror releases, and science-fiction adventures that connected with audiences during the eligibility period.

The Boys Lead the Television Categories

The Boys leads this year’s television nominees with five nominations overall. The Prime Video series is nominated for Best Superhero Series, Limited Series, or Made-for-TV Movie.

Antony Starr received two individual nominations. He is up for Best Actor in a Superhero Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie and Best Villain in a Series, Limited Series or Made-for-TV Movie.

Valorie Curry and Colby Minifie were both nominated for Best Actress in a Superhero Series, Limited Series, or Made-for-TV Movie.

Fallout, House of the Dragon, and Paradise followed closely with four television nominations each.

Critics’ Choice Super Awards Celebrate Genre Entertainment

The Critics Choice Super Awards were created to honor films and television programs within genres that are often overlooked by traditional awards ceremonies.

Categories recognize superhero projects, horror stories, action productions, science-fiction adventures, fantasy titles, performers, and villains across both movies and television.

The awards place a spotlight on projects that inspire passionate fandoms while also recognizing the actors and creative teams responsible for bringing those worlds to life.

Winners of the 6th annual Critics’ Choice Super Awards will be announced on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
