Award-winning Star Wars anthology returns October 29 with an all-star voice cast.

“Star Wars: Visions” will return to Disney+ for a third volume of animated shorts on October 29, 2025. The new installment continues the award-winning anthology’s tradition of blending the mythology of the Star Wars galaxy with bold creative visions, this time drawing exclusively from the diverse talents of Japanese anime studios.
The third volume boasts an impressive voice cast, featuring Anna Sawai, Freddie Highmore, George Takei, Harvey Guillén, Jodie Turner-Smith, Judith Light, Simu Liu, Stephanie Hsu, and Steve Buscemi.
Returning to Its Origins
Launched in 2021, the first volume of Star Wars: Visions introduced audiences to new stories and characters through the lens of leading anime creators and earned an Emmy nomination for the short “The Duel.” The second installment, released in 2023, expanded globally, showcasing the work of studios like Aardman and Cartoon Saloon, and went on to win Emmy, Lumière, and Annie Awards.
Volume 3 now circles back to Japan with nine shorts from nine acclaimed anime studios, including David Production, Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA, Kinema Citrus Co., Polygon Pictures, Production I.G., Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT STUDIO.

- A smuggler risks everything to rescue a fugitive from Imperial hands.

- A blinded Padawan must undergo spiritual trials to resist the Dark Side.

- A psychedelic battle unfolds within the mind of an Imperial trooper.
Behind the Scenes
The series is executive produced by James Waugh, Josh Rimes, and Jacqui Lopez. Justin Leach serves as co-executive producer, alongside Flannery Huntley and Kanako Shirasaki, who are also producers.
Each short includes both an English and Japanese voice cast, with notable stars such as Brian Tee, Kimiko Glenn, Emma Myers, Karen Fukuhara, Sonoya Mizuno, and Mark Strong joining the lineup alongside Japanese veterans like Masaki Terasoma, Akira Ishida, and Tomoyo Kurosawa.
