The beginning of the end as Netflix drops Stranger Things 5 trailer.

The countdown to the end of Stranger Things has begun. Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for Stranger Things 5. Fans are finally given their first look at the highly anticipated final season, and it confirms when the last adventure begins.
The Beginning of the End
The series will conclude across three releases:
- Volume 1: November 26, 2025 @ 5 p.m. PT
- Volume 2: December 25, 2025 @ 5 p.m. PT
- The Finale: December 31, 2025 @ 5 p.m. PT
Each drop will move the story closer to its long-awaited conclusion. It all culminates in a New Year’s Eve finale that brings the saga of Hawkins, Indiana, to a close and can be watched in theaters.
The Fall of 1987
The final season is set in the fall of 1987. Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished — his whereabouts unknown. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, a heavy dread returns. The final battle looms, and to end this nightmare, they’ll need the full party standing together, one last time.
Where We Find the Heroes
According to interviews shared with Tudum, the cast and creators describe the emotional and physical state of the characters when the story begins.
- Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven): “She’s in a warrior state, which is the first time you see Eleven like that at the beginning of a season. All she is thinking about is protecting her friends.”
- Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin): “Dustin is kind of in a bit of a funk. We’re all dealing with what it is to try to keep everybody safe while having a lot of unpacked baggage from the previous season.”
- Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas): “It’s the first season where the stakes are the same as where we left off. Everyone is on edge and just trying to keep hope alive.”
- Noah Schnapp (Will): “Will is back in Hawkins this season… we kind of hit the ground running right away. Everyone is all in one place, and we all have the same objective.”
- Sadie Sink (Max): “We ended Season 4 in a tough place for Max. There’s still a small glimmer of hope, though, and her friends are hanging on to that.”
- Finn Wolfhard (Mike): “Mike is back in leadership mode. He and the whole gang are devoted to finding Vecna and ending this.”

Chaos From the Start
Co-creator Ross Duffer says the new season “starts a little bit in chaos” and “sprints from the start.” His brother Matt Duffer adds, “Nothing in Hawkins is normal anymore… their movement is restricted, and there are Big Brother cameras everywhere.”

Executive producer Shawn Levy notes that while the scale has grown, the heart remains: “The action is next level, the visual effects are next level, but the emotional center remains the same.”
