Bill Hader voices the iconic Dr. Seuss character in Warner Bros. Animation’s colorful new family adventure.

The iconic Dr. Seuss character is returning to theaters with some surprises that will bring families together! Warner Bros. released the official trailer for The Cat in the Hat, which premieres in theaters on November 6. Unlike previous iterations, this version of the Cat embarks on a much more emotional adventure.
The Cat in the Hat sees the iconic Cat, voiced by Bill Hader, as he attempts his most daring mission yet. When a pair of siblings struggle to move into a new town, the Cat decides to cheer them up and help them adapt. Of course, the Cat’s still chaotic and unpredictable as ever, but this may be the only chance the Cat will have at redeeming himself.
The trailer itself offers a much more poignant journey for siblings Gabby and Sebastian, who are given the opportunity to move back to their old neighborhood through the Cat’s magic. However, there’s still a lot of colorful and whimsical action to be had as viewers also get some new looks into a new dream world and the I.I.I.I. (Institute for the Institution of Imagination and Inspiration, LLC).

Alongside Hader, the main cast for The Cat in the Hat also includes Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Xochitl Gomez, with Giancarlo Esposito, and America Ferrera. Tituss Burgess, Bowen Yang, Paula Pell and Tiago Martinez.
Additionally, Hader executive produces alongside Susan Brandt, Bill Damaschke, Kelly Marcel and Steve Zissis, Tim Story and Alex Timbers. Dan Molina serves as editor and Lorne Balfe serves as composer.
The Cat In The Hat Will Launch A New Seussiverse
Although it has been eight years since a Dr. Seuss character got their own film following The Grinch, this isn’t the Cat’s first cinematic outing. Notably, audiences may know of the 2003 Universal Pictures-DreamWorks Animation collaboration starring Mike Myers as the titular character. However, that adaptation was heavily panned by critics and audiences alike.
That said, Warner Bros.’ adaptation of The Cat in the Hat also looks to create a new cinematic universe utilizing Dr. Seuss’ characters. This was previously confirmed at this year’s CinemaCon event, where WB Animation head Bill Damaschke stated that this film will launch a “Seussiverse”, according to Hollywood Reporter on X.
The Cat in the Hat releases in theaters on November 6, 2026.
