Din Djarin and Grogu face a new galactic mission.
The Mandalorian and Grogu are bringing their latest Star Wars adventure home. Lucasfilm announced that Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu will arrive on digital platforms on July 21, 2026.
The movie will then arrive on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray on August 25, 2026. The digital and physical releases will include hours of exclusive bonus content. Fans can expect behind-the-scenes featurettes, production breakdowns, and an audio commentary from director Jon Favreau.
Collectors will also have several premium editions to choose from. The 4K Ultra HD release will be available as a SteelBook and a special Beskar Collector’s Edition. The Beskar Collector’s Edition will only be available in the United States. It includes exclusive packaging and collectible metal posters.
The Mandalorian and Grogu Brings Star Wars Home
Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu brings Din Djarin and Grogu to the big screen for the first time.
The film follows the award-winning Disney+ series The Mandalorian. It continues the story of the legendary bounty hunter and his young apprentice while also working as a standalone Star Wars adventure.
The adventure features spectacular visuals, new creatures, massive dogfights, TIE fighter battles, and several surprises. Din Djarin and Grogu also travel to previously unexplored corners of the galaxy.
What Is The Mandalorian and Grogu About?
The evil Empire has fallen, but Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought to achieve, its leaders turn to Din Djarin and Grogu for help.
Pedro Pascal returns as Din Djarin, the legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter. Grogu continues his training as Din’s young apprentice. Sigourney Weaver also stars in the movie. Martin Scorsese and Jeremy Allen White lend their voices to characters in the film.
Jon Favreau directed The Mandalorian and Grogu. He also wrote the screenplay alongside Dave Filoni and Noah Kloor.

The digital and physical editions will include several featurettes examining how the filmmakers created the movie. The bonus material covers the film’s puppetry, miniatures, visual effects, sound design, environments, and creatures. Bonus features may vary depending on the selected product and retailer.

The featurette shows how the filmmakers constructed snowy landscapes and a living swamp from the ground up.
Welcome to Shakari
Welcome to Shakari, which explores the creation of a massive new Star Wars city. The filmmakers transformed a downtown warehouse into a bustling metropolis filled with detailed locations and practical sets.
The finished environment became a large playground for Din Djarin and Grogu during their latest mission. The featurette reveals how the production team designed and constructed Shakari for the film.
Dejarik for Real
Dejarik for Real revisits the holographic chess game introduced aboard the Millennium Falcon in 1977. The classic game featured several small creatures battling across a circular board.
For The Mandalorian and Grogu, those creatures were recreated on a much larger scale. The featurette shows how the production team transformed the familiar Dejarik characters into full-sized creations for the big-screen adventure.
Jon Favreau Provides Audio Commentary
The home release will also include a feature-length audio commentary from Jon Favreau. Fans can watch the movie while Favreau discusses its story, characters, production, locations, and visual effects.
The commentary will offer additional insight into how The Mandalorian moved from Disney+ to the big screen.
