Brandon Sklenar is stepping into a dangerous rescue mission in THE RESCUE, a new action thriller from Paramount Pictures and Spyglass Media Group.
Sklenar stars as a former rodeo cowboy whose life is shattered when his daughter is kidnapped and held for ransom. Refusing to stand by while her life hangs in the balance, he takes matters into his own hands and begins a relentless search to bring her home.
He will not be making the journey alone. With his daughter’s devoted dog by his side, the former cowboy sets out after the people responsible for taking her and refuses to stop until he finds her.
Brandon Sklenar Headlines The Rescue
Sklenar leads an ensemble cast that also includes Josh Lucas, Hassie Harrison, Lorelei Olivia Mote, Nick Searcy, Austin Amelio and Spencer Treat Clark, with Tim Blake Nelson and Josh Duhamel rounding out the lineup.
THE RESCUE is directed by Potsy Ponciroli, who also serves as a producer alongside Shannon Houchins and Cliff Roberts.
The screenplay was written by John Fusco.
The story puts Sklenar at the center of a personal mission built around a father who refuses to rely on anyone else after his daughter is taken. The rodeo background adds a Western edge to the character, while the kidnapping plot pushes the film into full action-thriller territory.
The presence of his daughter’s dog also gives the rescue mission an emotional connection beyond the central pursuit.
The Rescue Features A Strong Supporting Cast
Alongside Sklenar, THE RESCUE brings together a cast featuring several familiar faces from action, drama, and Western projects.
Josh Lucas and Hassie Harrison join the film alongside Nick Searcy, Austin Amelio, Spencer Treat Clark and Lorelei Olivia Mote.
Tim Blake Nelson and Josh Duhamel are also featured in the cast.
THE RESCUE opens exclusively in theaters January 29, 2027.
