First look at the hit action-comedy series Twisted Metal S2.
Peacock has officially set the premiere date for the highly anticipated second season of Twisted Metal. Based on the classic PlayStation franchise, the hit series returns July 31 with new episodes, more chaos, and high-stakes car combat — all exclusively on Peacock.
The streaming platform also dropped a new teaser trailer and first-look photos, teasing what’s next for John Doe, Quiet, Sweet Tooth, and the other deadly drivers.
Season 2 will see the return of Anthony Mackie as John Doe and Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet. Joe Seanoa (aka pro wrestling star Samoa Joe) and Will Arnett once again team up as the fan-favorite character Sweet Tooth. New to the cast is Barry star Anthony Carrigan, who joins the twisted tournament as Calypso, a mysterious and powerful figure fans of the games will instantly recognize.
Writer, showrunner and executive producer Michael Jonathan Smith shared a statement teasing what fans can expect this season:
The stakes couldn’t be higher as John Doe (Anthony Mackie) and Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz) risk their lives to compete in a dangerous demolition derby tournament. The prize? A single wish, their greatest heart’s desire, granted. The only problem is sixteen other drivers have wishes of their own. Anthony Mackie and Stephanie Beatriz lead a stellar cast, including Will Arnett & Joe Seanoa (aka Samoa Joe) as fan favorite Sweet Tooth, and Anthony Carrigan as the iconic tournament host Calypso, in a fast-paced, hysterical, thrilling season with unforgettable characters. It’s too bad not all of them will survive.
About Season 2
Following the explosive events of the Season 1 finale, John and Quiet enter the TWISTED METAL tournament — a deadly, no-rules demolition derby hosted by the enigmatic Calypso. As they fight to survive, they’ll face off against ruthless new enemies and some familiar faces, including the unpredictable and murderous Sweet Tooth. The journey also forces John to confront his past when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the masked vigilante known as Dollface.
