VisionQuest Trailer Sees Ultron’s Plan Finally Coming to Fruition

Marvel Television has released a new trailer for VisionQuest, putting Paul Bettany’s Vision back at the center of the MCU while bringing James Spader’s Ultron back into the picture.

It’s hard to put a Maximoff down, but it’s even harder to keep Vision up. That’s all seen in the official trailer for VisionQuest, which premieres on October 14 on Disney+. The eight-episode series will cap off five years of Wanda Maximoff and Vision’s relationship in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The newest trailer for VisionQuest picks up some time after the events of Agatha All Along. After Billy was able to transport Tommy Maximoff’s soul into another body, Tommy’s been searching for his familly. Unfortunately for him, Vision’s body was manipulated by S.W.O.R.D., but revived by Wanda’s Hex construct of him.

This series sees Vision trying to rediscover himself after WandaVision with the help of Tony Stark’s AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., and J.A.R.V.I.S.. This also sees Ultron returning, which Vision instantly seems to question despite his unusual motives. It was previously noted by showrunner Terry Matalas to Empire that Vision backed up Ultron in his coding, which is the reason why he’s back.

In the real world, a bounty has been placed on Vision’s head, which forces him on the run while he seeks to figure out who he is. One of these bounty hunters is Paladin, a dual gun-wielding character who’s out to get his pay. However, whether or not Vision and Tommy’s escapades may see Billy and Tommy finally reuniting remains to be seen.

In addition to Ultron, another iconic Marvel character is set to make her debut: Jocasta, played by T’Nia Miller. Debuting in 1977’s “Avengers #162”, Jocasta was originally built by Ultron to be his wife. However, after events involving the Wasp and the Avengers, she became a hero instead and joined Hank Pym’s Mighty Avengers.

Paul Bettany returns as Vision once again alongside James Spader as Ultron, reprising his role from 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. The full cast includes Ruaridh Mollica, Todd Stashwick, T’Nia Miller, Lauren Morais, Orla Brady, Diane Morgan, Polly Frame, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, with Emily Hampshire and James D’Arcy (returning from Agent Carter).

The final installment of the “WandaVision” trilogy will be directed by Christopher J. Byrne, Gandja Monteiro, Vincenzo Natali, Terry Matalas, and written by Terry Matalas, Cindy Appel, Christopher Monfette, Nicole Falsetti, and Matthew Okumura.

Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Paul Bettany, Mary Livanos, Terry Matalas, Jac Schaeffer, and Christopher J. Byrne serve as executive producers alongside producer Roopesh Parekh.

VisionQuest begins streaming on Wednesday, October 14, on Disney+.
