Coyote vs. Acme finds a new home at Ketchup Entertainment with the 2026 theatrical release.

Ketchup Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to Coyote vs. Acme, the live-action/animated hybrid film featuring Looney Tunes‘ Wile E. Coyote, in a $50 million deal with Warner Bros. Pictures, according to Deadline. The film is set for a theatrical release in 2026, the company confirmed.
“We’re thrilled to have made a deal with Warner Bros. Pictures to bring this film to audiences worldwide,” said Gareth West, CEO of Ketchup Entertainment. “Coyote vs. Acme is a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling, capturing the essence of the beloved Looney Tunes characters while introducing them to a new generation. We believe it will resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.”
This hybrid live-action movie is directed by David Green and written by Samy Burch. Chris deFaria and DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn produce it. It was inspired by Ian Frazier’s New Yorker humor article “Coyote v. Acme.” The film stars Will Forte, who had a message for fans when we spoke with him and John Cena.
The story follows Wile E. Coyote as he takes legal action against the Acme Corporation after its products repeatedly fail him in his relentless pursuit of the Roadrunner. Teaming up with an ambitious lawyer, played by Forte, Wile E. faces off against the attorney’s formidable former boss, portrayed by Cena. As the case unfolds, an unexpected friendship between the lawyer and his animated client strengthens their resolve to win.
Ketchup Entertainment previously stepped in to distribute The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie after Warner Bros. opted not to release it. With this latest acquisition, the company continues its efforts to bring Looney Tunes stories to audiences worldwide.
