Step inside WWE’s writer’s room in the new Netflix series WWE: Unreal.

Netflix and WWE are taking fans where they’ve never gone before—behind the scenes. WWE: Unreal, a new 10-episode docuseries, is set to premiere in summer 2025. It will offer an all-access pass into the WWE writer’s room and the chaotic world outside the ring.
Directed by Chris Weaver and helmed by showrunner Erik Powers, Unreal runs 50 minutes per episode and promises to showcase the high-stakes drama that unfolds away from the spotlight, with familiar WWE Superstars at the center of the action.
“For the first time, step into the WWE writer’s room and outside the ring with your favorite WWE Superstars, where the drama is just as intense offstage as it is under the spotlight,” reads the official logline.
The series builds on WWE’s groundbreaking partnership with Netflix.
It officially launched in January 2025 when the streaming giant became the exclusive home of Monday Night Raw in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., and Latin America. It marks the first time in its 31-year history that WWE’s flagship weekly program has been available for streaming.
Since its debut, Raw has featured appearances from some of the sport’s biggest names. The Rock, current Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena, and “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes have all appeared. The momentum continues with Raw After WrestleMania, airing Monday, April 21, which promises to deliver the year’s biggest surprises.
But Netflix’s deal with WWE goes beyond Mondays. The platform now streams SmackDown, NXT, and marquee events like WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and SummerSlam in select regions worldwide. More countries are expected to gain access in the coming months.
As the squared circle takes center stage worldwide, WWE: Unreal looks to add a whole new dimension — giving fans a ringside seat to the inner workings of sports entertainment.
Stay tuned to Netflix this summer when this documentary finally arrives.
