Neuromancer Trailer Plugs Callum Turner, Mark Strong Into the Original Cyberpunk Hell
William Gibson’s original 1984 novel is, perhaps, the most influential piece of media when it comes to the cyberpunk subgenre. Not only did it introduce ideas that would become iconic with the genre, but presented readers with the first dystopian aesthetic tone that became famous with worlds like Cyberpunk 2077, Blade Runner, and much more. Now, Apple TV is making a daring jump in adapting this story with Neuromancer.

and J. D. Dillard. The series will consist of ten episodes and will premiere in January 2027 on Apple TV.
Apple TV’s Neuromancer Brings the Digital Heat With Callum Turner
The first teaser highlights the top-secret, dangerous mission that Case, played by Fantastic Beasts and Masters of the Air star Callum Turner, is on. Case is an expert, but damaged, hacker who finds himself recruited by Armitage, played by Mark Strong, to investigate a powerful corporation. Helping Case is his partner Molly, played by Briana Middleton, a sharp assassin, but not everything as it seems for either of them.
There have been numerous attempts to adapt Neuromancer in the past, but none have been successful until today. The first film adaptation would have included Ridley Scott and Mel Gibson. There were also other abandoned film projects from directors including Chuck Russell, Vincenzo Natali and Tim Miller with acting offers extended to Liam Neeson and Mark Wahlberg, according to a previous article from The Guardian.
However, Apple TV was able to land something with Gibson back in 2024, allowing development for a full-fledged series to begin. During that time, Paramount Television Studios took over production in 2025, making it a co-production with Anonymous Content.
Now, fans can finally witness the first live-action version of the story that helped make “cyberpunk” flourish in today’s culture. Addtionally, Neuromancer serves as the first part of Gibson’s Sprawl trilogy. As such, the Apple TV series may leave space to adapt the sequels, Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive.
Who Else is Starring in Apple TV’s Neuromancer?
In addition to Turner, Strong, and Middleton, the main cast for Neuromancer includes Joseph Lee, Peter Sarsgaard and Clémence Poésy. The ensemble includes Max Irons, Dane DeHaan, Junia Rees, Jordan Kouamé, Emma Laird, Marc Menchaca, André De Shields and Isabella Pappas.
Roland also serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Dillard, David Levine, Garrett Kemble and Zack Hayden for Anonymous Content; Aubrey “Drake” Graham, Adel “Future” Nur and Jason Shrier for DreamCrew Entertainment; and Jennifer Haley and William Gibson, who also executive produce. Dillard serves as director of the first three episodes.
Neuromancer premieres on January 22, 2027, on Apple TV.
