Happy Gilmore 2 tees off on Netflix this summer.
Tee time has officially been confirmed — Happy Gilmore 2 will stream on Netflix starting July 25, 2025. The long-awaited sequel to the 1996 cult classic brings back Adam Sandler as the hot-tempered hockey player-turned-golfer Happy Gilmore alongside a new generation of stars.
Netflix unveiled the first teaser trailer for Happy Gilmore 2. It offers a glimpse at the return of fan-favorite characters and fresh faces ready to take a swing at the greens. The sequel is directed by Kyle Newacheck (Game Over, Man!) and written by Tim Herlihy and Sandler, the same duo behind the original film.
Joining Sandler in the cast are Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, and Ben Stiller reprising their roles. Alongside them are newcomers Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio (Bad Bunny), golf legends John Daly, Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Bryson DeChambeau, as well as Travis Kelce, Blake Clark, and Paige Spiranic. Sandler’s daughters, Sunny and Sadie Sandler, also appear, along with Conor Sherry, Ethan Cutkosky, Philip Fine Schneider, and Maxwell Jacob Friedman.
The original Happy Gilmore became a comedy favorite nearly three decades ago. It followed Sandler’s titular character as he took the PGA Tour by storm with his unconventional style and explosive temper. The film remains a fan favorite and a staple of sports comedy, with quotes and Gilmore’s signature swing still mimicked by golf enthusiasts today.
While details about the sequel’s actual plot remain under wraps, the teaser hints at a new chapter for Happy as he faces fresh challenges on and off the course. With a blend of comedy, golf, and nostalgia, Happy Gilmore 2 is set to deliver another round of laughs when it debuts this summer.
