Jason Momoa’s dream of Lobo role is happening in Supergirl: World of Tomorrow.

Jason Momoa, best known for his portrayal of Aquaman in the DC Extended Universe, has sparked speculation about his next move within DC. In a recent Instagram post, Momoa shared a cryptic caption reading, “They called,” alongside a photo of text expressing his long-standing passion for the iconic DC character, Lobo. Now, Deadline reports that his Lobo will appear in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow starring Milly Alcock.
“So Lobo was… I collect comics, and I don’t do so much anymore, but he was always my favorite,” Momoa’s quote reads. “I always wanted to play Lobo because I’m like, ‘Hello? It’s the perfect role.’ I mean, listen. If they call and ask me to play him, it’s a f*** yeah. I haven’t received that call, so I don’t want to put any fake news out there, but if they ever call me and ask me to play, or ask me to audition, I’m there.”
Fans of both Momoa and DC have long associated the actor with Lobo.
The intergalactic bounty hunter is known for his over-the-top antics and brash personality. Many consider Momoa an ideal match for the character, and he himself has been vocal in interviews about his dream to bring the larger-than-life antihero to the screen. At one point, there were rumors of Momoa playing Lobo in a previous iteration of DC’s film universe, but the idea never materialized.
Now, with James Gunn and Peter Safran spearheading a new chapter for DC Studios, speculation about Momoa’s potential role as Lobo is getting close to official. The transition from Aquaman to Lobo would mark a significant pivot in Momoa’s DC legacy, aligning him with a character he has always held close to his heart. As Gunn’s vision for DCU takes shape with Creature Commandos and 2025’s Superman, fans will watch closely for official announcements about Lobo and Momoa in his dream role.
