The new action thriller teams Liam Neeson and Zachary Levi as CIA operators attempting a dangerous rescue mission in the heart of Tehran.
Liam Neeson and Zachary Levi are joining forces for a dangerous new mission in THE FIX. Inaugural Entertainment has released the official trailer for the upcoming action thriller, which puts Neeson and Levi at the center of a CIA operation that takes a battle-scarred team into the heart of Tehran.
The film also stars Quincy Isaiah alongside Wes Chatham, Jake Choi, Augusto Aguilera, Navid Negahban, Elnaaz Norouzi, Grant Harvey, Lara Wolf, Annet Mahendru and Titus Welliver.
THE FIX Sends a CIA Team Into Tehran
THE FIX follows a group of war-torn CIA operators mentored by Larry, played by Neeson, and led by Tucker, played by Levi.
After their mission in Afghanistan goes tragically wrong, the team is given another chance to earn redemption. Their new mission sends them into Tehran to pull off a daring rescue.
The premise puts Neeson back in the action-thriller territory that has become a major part of his career while giving Levi the chance to lead a more grounded action story.
Quincy Isaiah rounds out the film’s central trio. Isaiah is best known for his breakout performance as Earvin “Magic” Johnson in HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
Liam Neeson Has Built an Extensive Action Filmography
Neeson has spent decades moving between historical dramas, blockbusters and action thrillers.
The actor earned an Academy Award nomination for his performance as Oskar Schindler in Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List. His earlier filmography also includes Michael Collins, Rob Roy, Love Actually, Kingdom of Heaven and Batman Begins.
For an entire generation of moviegoers, Neeson is also known as Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. He later returned to the role through additional Star Wars projects.
However, Taken dramatically changed the trajectory of Neeson’s career in 2008. His performance as former CIA operative Bryan Mills turned the movie into a franchise and helped establish Neeson as one of Hollywood’s most recognizable modern action stars.
Neeson followed it with projects including The A-Team, Unknown, The Grey, Non-Stop, A Walk Among the Tombstones, Run All Night, The Commuter, Cold Pursuit, Honest Thief, The Marksman, Blacklight, Memory, Retribution, In the Land of Saints and Sinners and Absolution.
More recently, Neeson showed another side of his range by stepping into the role of Frank Drebin Jr. in The Naked Gun.
His role as Larry in THE FIX once again brings Neeson into the world of CIA operatives and international action.
Zachary Levi Trades Superheroes for CIA Operations
Levi enters THE FIX following a career that has moved between television, animation, superhero movies, dramas and action projects.
He became a fan favorite playing Chuck Bartowski in the NBC series Chuck, which ran for five seasons. The series followed a computer expert whose life changes after government secrets are downloaded into his brain, eventually pulling him into the world of espionage.
Levi also became the voice of Flynn Rider in Disney’s Tangled, starring opposite Mandy Moore. He later appeared as Fandral in Marvel Studios’ Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok.
His biggest theatrical leading role came with DC’s Shazam!, where Levi portrayed the adult superhero alter ego of Billy Batson. He returned for Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
Outside the superhero genre, Levi portrayed NFL quarterback Kurt Warner in American Underdog. He appeared in The Mauritanian, Spy Kids: Armageddon, Harold and the Purple Crayon, The Unbreakable Boy, and other projects.
THE FIX gives Levi another opportunity to tap into the espionage and action elements that helped launch his career on Chuck, this time as the leader of a CIA team dealing with the consequences of a mission gone wrong.
THE FIX Features a Large Ensemble Cast
Beyond its three central stars, THE FIX brings together an ensemble with plenty of experience across action, crime and thriller projects.
Wes Chatham is known for playing Amos Burton on The Expanse and recently joined the Star Wars universe as Captain Enoch in Ahsoka. Navid Negahban has appeared in Homeland, 12 Strong and Disney’s live-action Aladdin, while Titus Welliver is widely recognized for playing Harry Bosch in Bosch.
The cast also includes Jake Choi, Augusto Aguilera, Elnaaz Norouzi, Grant Harvey, Lara Wolf and Annet Mahendru.
Together, the ensemble surrounds Neeson, Levi and Isaiah with a sizable group of characters as their mission takes them deeper into hostile territory.
THE FIX opens exclusively in theaters September 11.
