Timothée Chalamet And Selena Gomez Lead Illumination’s Not Alone

Illumination launches original animated adventure with Not Alone.

Illumination is heading into space with an entirely original animated film, NOT ALONE. It will arrive in theaters on April 16, 2027, bringing together a major voice cast led by Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez. The film comes from the studio behind Despicable Me, Minions, Sing, The Secret Life of Pets, Migration, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

The new animated feature stars Chalamet as Joe, an introverted rocket mechanic who lives a quiet life alone. Gomez co-stars as Fran, a brilliant astro-botanist developing the world’s first plant-fueled rocket.

When Joe and Fran are brought together to prepare for the rocket’s first launch, sparks begin to fly. The problem is that neither of them is very good at romance. Their already awkward connection becomes even more complicated when three small aliens take refuge in Joe’s home.

The aliens, Dunk, Welly, and Shirm, are tiny, unruly, and adorable creatures on the run from a zealous but inept officer of the law named Zandro. They believe Fran’s rocket may be their only chance to get back home safely.
