The inevitable war for Middle-earth has truly begun in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 thanks to Sauron’s biggest decision. In the newest trailer for the franchise’s prequel series on Prime Video, Sauron’s army is at the forefront of this new war. However, there are still a few familiar faces who will stand up to this darker power.
Sauron Forges the One Ring as Middle-earth Prepares for War
This new trailer sees Sauron officially creating the One Ring to rule them all, declaring that it’s time to begin. His army of Orcs is already bigger than any army on Middle-earth, but his ace in the hole is the Balrog. However, Galadriel, King Durin IV (who was officiated in Season 2), Elrond, Celebrimbor, and many more are already prepping for the worst.
Gandalf, Galadriel and Middle-earth’s Heroes Face a Growing Threat
On the other side of the world, Gandalf is still mastering his magical abilities. Despite the Dark Wizard’s warning about Sauron’s increasing power, it seems like Gandalf will have a bigger role to play. As the armies of Middle-earth begin uniting as well, Galadriel is hoping to come to terms with Celeborn as they prepare for war.
The Rings of Power Season 3 Reveals New Character Posters
In addition to the official trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3, new posters were also revealed. These character posters put a spotlight on some of the show’s iconic characters, including Sauron, the Balrog, Gandalf, Galadriel and Celeborn. Check them out below:
The official logline reads: “Jumping forward several years from the events of Season Two, Season Three takes place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war, bind all peoples to his will – and at last rule all Middle-earth.”
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 is produced by showrunners and executive producers J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay. They are joined by executive producers Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and executive producer-director Charlotte Brandstrom. Matthew Penry-Davey is producer and Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee are co-producers. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
